ok, i made some little picture dealies here to help. hope they serve some good. some are pics of common probs and how to know what is going on
first we have a tribal here with everything that should be in it for it to operate correctly, especially the little white valve dampner!!
(if your luck enough to have the stock one actualy in the gun thay are a black color.) i had to make one for this.

here we have the ram assemby, left to right:
hammer, dampner (o-ring, if your lucky it might have the original one similar to one in a imp or shocker bolt ram), cylinder, shaft, (2 different versions), end cap, and holder( there are also one piece versions of this with a snapring in the middle like an angel.

now here is a good indication the valve dampner is missing, notice the scar on the bolt, this is caused by the bolt link pin slamming into the body since the dampner is missing.
people with red valves need to have the tapered section on the front of the valve machined down and install a dampner, it will eventually hammer the body to the point you wont notice anymore, but will have off consistancy.

if you are having problems with the bolt sitting to far forward and not letting ball drop, or consistacy problems, look for these things here associated with the ram.
first the rear plug, or holder screw being loose

and now the hammer, use red or green loctite when you put it on, blue will not hold, and you shouldnt need to remove the hammer very often anyways, all the lubing can be done with the ram assembled, also use blue on the rear plug. also notice how dry and clean the ram looks? you want a good coat of grease (dow, matrix muck, ect..) around the outside of the ram,(black part, not hammer) this one was like this, clean as a brand new part.

valve problems, something to look for is the tightnes of the set screw for the valve, use blue loctite on it and be sure its snug, but not overly tight, if you see somthing like this, youll know its loose.

well i hope this helps some with troubleshooting some common problems.
sounds weird but you guys were kinda lucky this gun had EVERY one of these simptoms, so i was able to take pics and document alot of the mechanical problems.
as for electronics, well be carfull with the wires, and if you plug the batt in backwards, look to be doing some soldering on the rear board (diode to be specific). and if you do it to a meph, youll need to replace the voltage regulator.
and this last pic really has nothing to do with tribals, but i just had to post the pics we got last night of midnight T-maxx running.
kinda a cool pic, even if you cant see much

Well done, man! Consider this thread stickied.
Regarding RED valves and dampeners - I found that it's very easy to use a countersink on the dampener to fit the chamfer on the RED valve than to machine the valve (especially if you don't have a lathe handy to turn down the valve body

Also another trick for the missing AOC cap tool. I kinda explained this in the polishing thread, but I think that the pic speaks for itself. Just use the horizontal allen key as a lever to turn the cap out. Or I suppose if you have the snap ring pliers, you could just us that to turn the AOC cap out.

Yes, Doc can make them, and makes them darn good. I had him whip up a special monster tool for me, since I've gone through about 3 of the stock tools already...

Ram, bolt (if its the aluminum kind) and maybe the solenoid, BUT only if its giving you trouble, if not leave it be.
