I am new to the tourney level of pb. I am curious to know what rules are played by and how the scoring works. Any help would be great.

You better talk to the people from Team Splat Ants about scoring.
But as far as I know does it works as follows:

3man 60 points maximum
Flag pull 15 pts
Flag hang 30 pts
Elimination 5 pts per player 15 in total

5man 100 points maximum
Flag pull 25 pts
Flag hang 50 pts
Elimination 5 pts per player 25 in total

7man 100 points maximum
I have no idea. see www.millennium-series.com/rules.pdf

10man 100 points maxium
Flag pull 30 pts
Flag hang 50 pts
Elimination: 2 pts 20 in total

XBall / Arena Ball
Flag hang 1 point
Elimination: 0 pts but penalty time of 2 minutes for opponent team

just my 10 cents

More info

Who is going to be marshals for this event, and how many marshal will take the field? Is the field going to be up in advance of the event for the teams to map and plan it or pratice on it?
Is this event set up with the Heidelberg R&G paintball program?
Is the 3 man young guns the same as the 3 man or are their two 3man events on Sat?

The tournament will be organized and marshalled by Team SPLAT ANTS.
A very experienced paintball team from southwest Germany. They took 1st on the nationwide BlackStar league last year, participated on the EuroBall tournament (www.euroball.info) and they got an acceptable ranking in South Germans paintball league (www.paintball-league.org).There will be at least 5 refs on saturday and 7 on sunday. Teams and single players who arrive on friday 12th are allowed to participate in the HARDCORE PAINTBALL WORKSHOP for just $7/player. A dozen of pro paintballers will be there to show you guys the basics and tips and secret tricks and how to play an aggressive and offensive ball without getting marked. Unlimited 4500 psi air fills and Co2 are available on site for additional $ 5/player. After the hardcore training, itīs time to stop by in the Rod & Gun club next door for the MeetīnīGreet. In the clubhouse you can pick up certain single players to get your team complete or just to have small talks about tactics and strategies for the following 3man tournament on the next day.
Then you can grap your tent and camping gear and choose a place for camping on our camping site. Limited electricity and water are available for free.
Expect to go up against some of the better players in Germany. Expect to be shot more than once. Expect to get bunkered. Expect us NOT TO CARE if you complain!!

Please email us and inform us lil quick about your paintball needs and wishes and what else we can do for you. Itīs gonna be the largest 3man BYOP tournament in central Europe with probably more than 30 teams from 4 nations.
@ pit
The young gun teams will be playing in the same divisions as other more experienced teams. However Young guns teams and Girls teams can rent E-Spyders and chest and neck protectors for free from us.
Can you offer a roundtrip transportation all inclusive package for all your local teams on your field ? It would be a great help for the american players and teams
I can email you a new english flyer if you want.
Call holger 0172/6647021 or holger@splatants.de

See you in the middle

Hold on a min.

Did I get you right on the Hardcore Camp? You are going to intentionaly teach and advocate whiping and cheating before an event? The fact that the honor of the game that fights so hard for a foot hold in Germnay is going to be intentioanly compromised is pretty bad. How can anyone expect to have a fair and competative tournament when the event staff sponsors a cheating camp before the event? You may want to check that kind of thing, hands down its no good for the sport. I am all for tips and tricks for a better game, a little advice goes a long way. Unfortunately so does a bad reputation for a paintball team and tournament. Just some friendly advice.

Hey Josh !
Donīt get me wrong. That thing about cheating was just a joke. Yourīre right! Cheating is always a bad thing. My quote is always:"Play Hard, Play Safe Play Fair !
But serious pro players like LaSoya and Russion Legion know excatly how to whipe a hit away and sometimes it works for winning a game, sometimes it doesnīt work and he gets a 1on 1. Itīs always up to the player what he wants to do in a certain situation on the field. We donīt teach those young guns and rookies how to play unfair. We just show them all the basics. And that includes "What ifs" situations,1on1s,penalties and whiping, too. Example: You got an opponnent. But yourīre not sure if you really got him. So what are you gonna do in this situation ? Yourīre calling the ref and yell "hey! check his arm, chest or something like that. At the same time your opponent is whiping the paint away and ref is checking him. He calls him clear, he shots you out and heīs winning the game. So what ? But anyway, I appreciate your advice and like I said: We donīt teach them to cheat. We just show them how to manage important situations who might be neccecary for their first tournament.

Always PLAY HARD, PLAY SAFE, PLAY FAIR

just my 10 cents

2003 NPPL scoring rules (if this is what they're using) for 5-man are here: NPPL Rules. Check para. 3 for scoring.
NPPL doesn't do 3-man so it's not clear what the scoring rules are going to be. Here's the 3-man rules from the PMI series though: PMI 3-man rules. This tournament isn't giving as many points for the hang but otherwise the rules are similar.

Hi CAL 68 Team,
Can't call now since I'm at work but thanks anyway.
I was wondering,
I haven't seen you tournament advertised on any of the local US newspapers. Is this a US Military sponsored event or a local one? Also, the location seems to imply that it's on US property but there's only a small paintball field area at the R&G Club and I doubt that the Golf Club will let you have it right on their course. Is this going to be in the area between the golf course and the R&G club or at the Schutzenhaus down the road a bit or somewhere else? I really would like to know when you guys are planning to kick this off Friday night and Saturday morning as well.
I'll be in Munchen between tomorrow and Thursday so I'll check back after I return.
