day 7- sunday
after the final game is played, the champagne is poured, and everyone goes home, work is just beginning for the operations crew.
after the fields have ended all of their games, i go in and start deflating the bunkers.
after the bunkers have deflated, i stuff them into huge transport bags and place them on pallets so a forklift can pick them up.
after all of the bunkers and paintballs are removed, the field is ready to have the netting dropped and cables rolled up.
i stayed for a bit after i packed up the first field to show you what the night crew does. these guys stay for hours after the last game is played and do a fantastic job of removing all the paintballs and trash from the fields and pits.
can you tell where the bunker used to be? lol
the person in charge of running the night shift is dominick. if you remember from past nppl events, he would dance on center court during cleaning breaks. you can thank him for the clean pit areas and squeegeed bunkers every morning of the tournament.
my final day is tomorrow, will have more pics tomorrow night!
