day 5- tournament play begins
here are a couple before and after shots of the center court field. most people dont think about how much paint is shot at a tournament, and fewer people think about what happens to all that spent paint once the tournament is over.
friday, after all games are played
a lot of paint doesnt break, and collects on the sides of the fields.
in the evening, we have a crew that has to go out to the fields and squeegee the bunkers, rake up all of the paint, and shovel it into bags. tomorrow morning should have a definite improvement in the cleanliness of the fields.
we must maintain the vendors area too. some knucklehead drops paint on the walkway, and decides the best thing to do is leave it there.
we are responsible for picking up all stray paintballs from the sand. i had to sift out the paintballs from the sand with a rake for about half an hour.
end result...lets keep it this way!
tomorrow morning adds another detail to the fields: repositioning the bunkers. when people overslide and crash into a bunker, or lean against it too hard, the bunker will slowly shift. after 75-100 games in a day, that bunker will have moved a few inches from its original position. it is my responsibility to make sure the bunkers get placed back in their proper position.
more pics tomorrow!
