Illusion/Illusion Pro Thread
Damn right this one's been long overdue. The Illusion is a workhorse of a pump that not only looks good, but can easily keep up with the best of the tournament rigs. Cocker barrel-threads and Angel feedneck threading allow for aftermarket parts to make it your own. Look here for photos, specs, mods and ideas concerning the Action Markers Illusion series of pump paintball guns.

For as long as their site works, here is a link in PDF to the Illusion manual. If something isn't working right, most answers can be found right here:

Devolumizing the dump chamber...
I got the idea from CrashSTP. This is what I came up with.

The idea here is to reduece the volume and maintain the pressure at it highest, so that it goes "good to the last drop" of co2.
I used bronze sleeves, all needed to be cut to fit snug with 0 tolerance from side to side, and end to end. An o-ring was used as a spacer/bushing ( you pick wich term sounds best) but not necessary.
This mod can add as many as seven shots on a warm day, and is easy to do.
Currantly, I can achieve over 40 shots above 275fps.

Best thread ever.
Unfortunately, my Illusion has nearly taken root on the shelf in my closet. It's been a long winter. However, now that spring is springing, I may have to get her out, dust her off, and start mowing muppets.
Shoutout to Hans at the long-gone Siegecraft store for providing me with my trusty AM-P. Where did you all get yours from?

great job on the bushing Splatt - amazing what a little piece of metal or delrin will do for shot count

I picked up my Illusion Pro new from the furry fellow in the post above mine.
The things has been a dream, and is one of the pre-serial # models.

Thanks for the idea dood, I wish you could have just me one. I'm not a pro machinest, and it took me over an hr to get through that bronze while using a very dull hax. Delrin would be alot lighter too. ACE didn't stock nylon spacers that fit either. See you in Aug. PPlll Baby!

No. I checked when I first got it, but I'm still garnishing mid/upper -30's from each 12g. Works for me.

my illy serial 155, awesome gun and I love playin with it, although my sniper gets more work on the rec field. stainless pump rods like vancity (all 3 acp gunslinger illusions have em), devolumizer in the valve chamber, polished 2 tone bolt, and of course the stiffi.

Apoc, care to compare notes on devumizing for the Iller with us? The more options the better. Mine's kinda heavy.

delrin tube, OD is to easily slide fit into the chamber, ID is to clear the cupseal without problems, length is face depth to valve face minus depth from mating face of the front plug to its end (back) face minus clearance of 5 thou. I dont remember the exact dimensions and I'd rather not disassemble the gun to measure it.

sounds like a very snug fit. Mines is too, though I would rather have a composite of some sort. The bronze adds a good eight oz's to the front and throws the balance way off.
I wonder if I could find some pvc that'll fit.

delrin, nylon, pvc or uhmw would be fine for what it is, even aluminums a nice chop off the weight of bronze.

Gang - being a sticky, we should probably have less conversation and more factual Illusion info in this thread.
