Question for GPL Teams

Next year we have some big plans for the GPL. One of them is the addition of 7-man. Here is my question to you. Right now alot of 5-man teams also play in the 3-man since they are on different days. If I do 3, 5, and 7-man what days should I run the events on.

Samples:

3-man and 5-man on Saturday.....7-man on Sunday

3-man on Saturday.....5 and 7 on Sunday

What scenerio would work out the best for your team?

Brian, i think most of us would agree that putting on the 7-man format is great idea. I agree with the others 3/5 on saturday and 7 on sunday.

P.S. - Brian/Cyndi just to let you know that Groundshaker will not be able to make the next event, since everyone will be moving in to their respective colleges, so most of the team will be pretty busy. But we will be there the for the last events of the GPL season.

Doc - What's up man? Its been a long time. So when can we come over to your field and do some scrimmages? Regards to Inflict.

adding 7 man would be hot.

if you guys ever decide to do that x ball idea you guys had last season, i think that may get a good turn out too if you give up paint for a little cheaper.

i think most people would prefer a new location, skirmish is none to fun of a drive for most teams.

but hey, 7 man would be hot, go for it

we are currently looking for locations in the Philly area. Looked at a few which offer grassy soccer fields and sport complexes.

i like the location/set up of event 3..
nice open fields and no nets with a nice pavillion...

i like the 7-man idea this season we are just doing your 3-man, but next season we'll definitly play 7...

if youre looking philly area, Carl Nardi's place is pretty nice, convenient location, tons of grass in the area if they can get their hands on it, bunch of space and in the tri state sports complex.

id especially love that
its pretty close to here, plus they have the shop right there which couldnt hurt.

well

Seriously - I think 3, 5, and 7 man would be tough to pull off - It will make all the divsions smaller for all formats. It may be better to do just 3 man and 7 man. Its not that hard to get 3 people together to play a tournament - and for any established team Its not a problem to get 2 more people to play 7 man. and now with the NPPL league everybody wants to try 7 man

i dont think division size would be as much of a concern as scheduling, running two divisions in one day in a new location could be tough for any event runner, and as good as global usually is, even they would probably have a kink or two to work out the first event or two.

if they can find a good way to pull that off, then id say go for it, itd be great

If the 5-man is moved to Saturday, my team will not be able to compete in the '04 season. We live in Ohio and were going to travel on each of the Sundays that the 5-man tourneys took place. But if it's moved to Saturday, we would not be able to since we play school sports. Well... I hope this all works out.
