Python PLUS Stock Barrel

Is there anyone running this setup? I'm wanting to pick up a bore kit but don't really have a lot of money to do so and my brother in law has a python for his tippman that he has been using for 3 years now. I was thinking of picking one up considering it's only $60 and would only add 1-2" to my length of the barrel.

Anyone using or seen someone using this combo with the SP-1 ?

Just be careful, had one of these get stuck in the breech and couldn't get it off since it sits inside the body shell. Your much better off running with a Freak Jr kit. Accurate as all hell!

That was one of the reasons I didn't get a Python sizer kit, or a St!ff! switch kit, too afriad the sizer would get stuck in the breach.

I almost bought a Deathstix barrel, since thier sizers are reverse thead to the front, so when removing the barrel from the breach, it would only tighten into the sizer.

I ended up with the tried an dtrue Freak, simply because there are the most inserts avialable, and only one piece to replace if another marker with a different thread is bought, just the Freak back.

There are also a lot of different fronts available to customize the look and performance.

Freak or Freak Jr. gets my vote.

I have a Freak Jr. but the barrel keeps getting stuck together. I practically have to use a vise grip to hold one side while I crank with a pair of pliers on the other. Suggestions?

I love the Freak Jr kit. It has been nothing but nice to me but I hate that I have to keep it together all the time. I also have a hard time getting the sizers out of the Freak back. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks...Hammy

Sell it and get a deadlywinds barrel. It's a one piece carbon fiber barrel.

Dude, for $60 you can pick up all kinds of barrel kits used, and even some new, on ebay... I just got an Evil Pipe 3-back kit for my Etek2 with 3 different length fronts for $60... Look around a little first.

Evil Pipe has so far been my favorite piece of kit, I also have one that I've used almost exclusively on me SP1s and Ions since I bought it. Unfortunately they're discontinued so all thats left out there is "new old stock" or used. But Deadlywind Fibur is awesome too.

I'd be really nervous about the Python kit too just because of the way it would sit inside the breech... if it ever got stuck, you're pretty much boned.

Clean the threads between the two halves, then lightly oil them.

Check the orings inside the barrel back, replace/lube them lightly with paintball safe oil or shocker lube.
