Agreed. You just have to watch out for the ratings on Crunch amps. I don't think they rate their amps with RMS power. However, both brands are made by the same manufacturer so they are both probably very similar in design.

Also when i fidget with the cords in back of the deck now, it comes on, but only one speaker makes a static noise, and nothing plays through any of the speakers. The clock also comes on. All the cords are connected for the decks wiring harness, no loose ends. Any idea what may be the issue?

Alright, I know I'm asking a lot of random questions on various subs and amps, but I've got another one..

Which would be the better sub: THIS or THIS? I'm planning on getting THIS amp.

Amp rating
1100 watts RMS x 1 chan. @ 2 Ohms

Sub ratings
CVR - RMS: 400 watts
L5 -RMS: 600 watts

Not a good match. If you're going with that much power, I would suggest a higher quality sub from a respected company such as Audioque, Fi, DD etc

Something along the lines of a Fi BL (1000 RMS), Audioque HDC3 (1000 RMS), or DD 9500 (This one will cost you a pretty penny... 1500 RMS with 406 oz magnets)

Isn't the L5 600 watts @ 4 ohms? the amp is rated for 550 watts @ 4 ohms, which would be good enough for me.

Both of those subs are dual 4 ohm voice coils, which means when wired down to one channel it would be 2 ohms.

Ah, alright. What would be a better amp to run the L5? I was leaning towards the HiFonics amp in case I wanted to add another subwoofer to my setup later on..

Personally, I would change the sub/box before I would change that amp. The amp you have picked out is legit, whereas putting an L5 in a 1 cu/ft sealed enclosure probably isn't in your best interest.

I wanted a cutthrough/blwothrough when I had my S10. I had figured I could do like 8 12's (or 16 12's isobarik). Then found out I was moving to DC and decided to get a sedan. I kinda wish I didn't get rid of the truck. Now that I have a little more disposable income, I could of had a stupid loud truck by now.

Well I have a peronal meter. I think it is +3 db on the Termlab mic though. I can't seem to remember who made mine, but AudioControl makes one that fits in your dash. They have two models, one that goes to 150 and another that goes to 160.
