Alpine's 9886 and 9887 have incredible ipod abilities. 3 line display, so scrolling is incredibly easy and familiar to ipod users.

Pioneers line of Ipod HU's are a sinch to use too.

So I'm assuming an Eclipse CD3100 H/U would be a better choice over a Kenwood KDC-MP242? I'm thinking about a PowerBass ASA-400.1 amp, now any suggestions for a good 10-12" sub (preferably 12) in the ~$100 range?

awkward- well you can start by building your own box. it will cost about $25 assuming you have the tools. i can also recommend going to caraudio.com/forum and see what kind of deals you can get. and dont forget craigslist.
I don't have the tools, but I'm sure one of my friends does.

What brands should I be on the lookout for?

Oh nice, i like that kind. The other kind makes me

Fixed my head after ripping it apart. I think im gonna need to find a newer similar model which sucks because that was an expensive one.

Pioneer has some pretty cheap H/Us around 100 ish, they lack quite a few features but they aren't that bad quality wise.

The Eclipse has 5v preouts and I love mine ALOT.

As far as the woofer goes, ehh I havent delt with many woofers in that price range so I cant help you much there. Those 65 dollar Pioneers get pretty loud in prefab boxes though

ive only used it on a 9886 and 9887 but its great, percentage searches, 3 lines of display, search just like on an ipod with artist, genre, songs, etc.

idk what your budget is, but the dc level 1's and 2's are priced pretty good, and i think the level 3's are too.

i was quoted 260 shipped on a pair of level 2's.
rusty's a great guy to deal with, great customer service.

I was hoping to spend around $350 for everything, but I guess I could save up and use next paycheck to help out.
