Please help diagnose Holley carb issue!

Okay so I bought a 82 f100 with a 302 in it to drive to class and back and it's having major issues. I don't really understand carbs or how to diagnose the issue so I'm hoping someone here can help. Whenever I go to accelerate or slow down while driving my engine tries to stall out. I have tried running carb cleaner through the ports in the carb, I have tried using seafoam and cleaning jot the vacume lines, I have tried using the spring kit and swapping out the springs. I don't know what else to do. I swapped it to a normal colored spring and it worked a lot better but it still had alittle bit of the issue so I when to go down a spring. Whenever I did I realized I didn't hook a specific hose up so I did and the issue when back to being terrible. I don't know what this hose does so I included a picture in the post so maybe someone can tell me if I can just leave it unhooked please I don't know what else to do and I need the truck to be able to get to school. I payed for this truck with my money from working. I can afford to take it to some shop so they can charge a ton to get it fixed. The hose I was talkin about is the black one next to the black cap.

That vac hose is attached to the auto choke.

Sounds like you're choked.

Where does that vac hose lead to? It kinda looks like its just going up into the filter. Make sure its getting manifold vacuum.

Pic looks like the hose comes for the carb throttle plate or carb bottom and going some where like the air cleaner.if it's to air cleaner,it's in the wrong place.[vac leak] just block it off.if it's manifold vaccum it could go to PVC valve.pull a spark plug out & look at the color, if it's white it's lean,blk-it's rich to much fuel.should be grayish if fuel mixture is close
