Before there was the PSP and NPPL it was all just the NPPL. Alot of the owner and staff of the PSP had played and put money into the NPPL before the split in 2003.
I don't see it as being that bad. It's more of a gesture towards the past I'd say. As much as the industry made them compete for $$$, both leagues were looking to provide essentially the same thing- the best, of the best.
