The first time I picked up a paintball marker was back in late '03. My friend had his birthday party at a local field and we were rec warriors for the day. Ever since then I was hooked. By the time Christmas rolled around I was already started to feed the need. Got a Brass Eagle Pump and started playing in my friends backyard just about every week. Then I picked up a Spyder TL and played rec until I was introduced to speedball in '04. I then got my ICD
B2K hence the "ICDkid" username. Lol.
Speedball was a blast. A group of friends and I started a YGs team. We werent good at all. A learning experience it ended up being tho and we all found out the hard way. In '05 is when I started to take things a little more serious and I bought an Alias Timmy. This is where the tournaments begin for me..
1st event was Corona XPSL in I wanna say March '05. I played for Black Magic on the rookie squad. We won 1 game and lost 7. It was rough. Shortly after the Black Magic rookie squad quit. I played AM at the 2nd event at the SCP field. We went like 3 and 5. I quit the Black Magic thing to go onto other things to say the least.
In '06, Ben from pbwarehouse.net offered me a job. I jumped on the opportunity. I mean who wouldn't? I was 17 and just quit my job. Working in a paintball enviroment was awesome and I still to this day work for Ben @ pbwarehouse.net. Packing orders, site matinence, and surf the forums like a champ. Haha. PBW back in '06 had 3 different owners; Ben Hu, Andrew Kerns, and John Bishop. Pretty much the best bosses for us to have. Andrew and his life lessons have helped me so much. Around the same time I along with 2 of my good friends, Shane Lunneborg and Jon Luby were playing for Absurd Addiction. We played NOV Xpsl. Making Sunday once of the 2 events we played. Just couldnt get it all together. Andrew Kerns steps in and convinces all of us to jump to D1. PBWarehouse Squadron Red was born. We do so and train so much. He pushed us physically to all of our limits. We play NPPL OC 06and win 2 games and lose the other 6 no real stomp down except by LA Faction whom at the time was leading the pack in D1 aside to SDA.
Andrew, Shane, and I played the Vegas XPSL with Pete (hobbyhorse/macrolineguy) and friends. Had alot of fun. Didnt do to well though.
Still on Andrew's program the constant physically demanding exercises and tons of drilling. We would scrim once a month if we were lucky. Andrew had us work on everything to improve our game. By the time HB '07 rolled around we were hungry and wanted it so bad. We go 5 and 3. Make Sunday but fall short and get knocked out in the 1st round. JAX rolls around and everything that could go wrong did. We went 1 and 7.
Shortly after the myself and Squeek (Luby) quit the team. Pretty much quit all together. Until the Chicago PSP event when we (Squeek and I) were asked to play D3xball with Nub Squad. Nub Squad was a throw together of 1 Up Kids and friends. We made it to the ochos I believe and lost to Misfit Militia, which sent us packing. Not bad for all of our first PSP event. Too bad we were a 1 event wonder though.
After Chicago I was convinced that I wouldnt be playing at all anymore.. Until Bosch asked me to play with them (NXe) for the remainder of the season and so on. We played NPPL SD '07 and went like 3 and 5. Lots of rain and good times to say the least.
'08 PSP PHX, Sniper Force powered by NXe. A line from SF and a line from NXe. We got like 6th place. Way fun to play an event in our home town. HB'08 I didnt get rostered for the NXe squad because at the time we had like 12 guys. So Andrew called me up and I guested for PBW Red D1. We made Sunday but soon after got knocked out. I had a blast though, Andrews game plans were solid as always.
JAX '08, NXe went 4-4. Didnt make it. Our roster was stacked but we just didnt click at the time. 08' Chicago I played with Ghetto Smurfs D3x. We didnt make it past the preliminary matches. I dunno what happened. Hah. But by the time World Cup rolled around with a few roster changes, Ghetto Smurfs made it to Quarters. But lost both barely by a point each. While at Cup, Bosch informed me that we (NXe) would be playing pro in Commanders Cup.
Im exilerated, Id be reaching a goal that I set when I was 14. The practices leading up to the event Andrew had us doing various physically demanding activities during practice. Tons of drills and other objective type excercises. SD '08 the Pittsburg Americans was the NXe Crew. We went 3 and 5. Winning our first game against XSV. I got laned  haha. But without Andrew's methodical game plans we wouldnt have been able to get those wins. He had us doing things that most of the other teams weren't. '08 season concludes.
New things to come for the season of 2009.
I'd like to thank the following people without them I wouldnt be here:
-And last but not least, all the friends Ive made along the way.
