Tom-
Congrats on the new league! I love the idea. It brings back so much fun of the old game and also I love the idea of the mixed guns on each team.
My only constructive criticism is to get rid of the air strike and special weapons part i.e. "Instant Resurrection: Allows the captain to bring 3 players out of the staging are at any time as long as the team on the field does not exceed 10 players.
Artillery: allows the captain to call an artillery barrage on any position on the field. He must have a line of site to the position. Kills every one in a 5 paces distance of where the shot was called."
Besides that I am looking forward to playing in this!

looks great but id really like to see
- no hopper restrictions...just restrict the rof of the gun and call it a day..guns have tourney locks for a reason
- no gun restrictions...1 guy with a pump and some-1 else with 0 gun or rof restrictions? really?

Cool Format!!!
I love that you guys bring this back. It sure makes you remember the "good ol days" =)
But i got to stick with Travis opinion on the "air strike" and special weapons.
It just makes it unrealistic and compilicated.
Good luck! I sure hope for a great sucess =)

I wish SPPL would do the same. You know, a true old school league should have the same old school format. It's not so old school for the kids that haven't played it, and there is a lot of nostalgia to be had by the older dudes that did play it. If they did away with what appears to be competition for SPPL, the would be right up there with SPPL, and PSP and what ever else comes this year.

This part of the rule confuses me. You can hook a single 9v up to a halo/reloader/magna or a torque. Would those be legal or are they trying to specifically say 9v revvy or other 9v VL spinoffs?
I'm definitely interested in playing at the Badlandz. I'm going to have to buy a renegade top and some goggleflauge to match.

I kind of like the way TTPL rules work in regards to guns. No automatics and 50 paintballs/person/game. You could even ditch the no auto's rule IMO cause in the end a limited ammunition is limited and if you open up with your 25 BPS gun you'll get 2 sec of paintball.

[quote=WorrGamR2k1;55725842]All big leagues I've played in have been BYOP, least as far as I know, we usually ended up buying paint there.
From what I have remember both the PSP and the old NPPL had it where you had to buy paint at the event through an event sponsor paint manufacturer. Mind you you could buy paint from multiple different paint manufacturers but you still had to buy it at the event. Mind you this started up in the last few years and most people bought it from the semi truck from what vendor they choose so very few teams noticed (except the teams sponsored by nonevent sponsored paint manufacturers)

the website seems to put down tourney players. such as saying things like "remember when paintball was played in the woods with friends on sundays, not in some parkinglot" thats what pisses me off about this. and the whole format sucks imo

I agree with this. If they want to come kill me, make them do it with their guns. There are few things more frustrating than a ref pulling me out because someone played a video game power-up.

Playing in parking lots of NFL stadiums was a joke. I think that a lot of people that have been playing for a while will think it's amusing as well.

Hey Tom, glad to see you around.. I've still got great memories of you guys thrashing us at SPPL Oklahoma a few years ago.
Looks like you've got a good thing going here...some kinks to work out, but overall, I've got to say this looks good.

i think its lame how national level tourney players boast about how "Paintball is getting so big! We just had a tournament in (insert major sports stadium here)". No, you played in the parking lot..
good to see a tournament woodsball league. with woodsball/scenario gaining in popularity more and more, hopefully this will take off. maybe my team will play the D-Day event.

Tom would have to clarify, but I took this to mean Revy style agitator loaders and basically not force fed hoppers to govern the rates of fire on todays machine guns.

I would assume the same, the rule just needs to be reworded to list acceptable loaders.
