Any diff in electra 08 - 09?
I've been thinking about picking up an electra, and I was curious if there was any difference. I tried googling this, and haven't found much.
Is there much difference in the 08 and 09 models? I can get a new 08 for about 30 bucks less and I wanted to know if it was worth shelling out for an 09 or being cheap wouldn't matter.
Thanks for the info!!

difference as in; the difference between the 08' and 09' Kingman Electra is the feedneck. The 08 model uses a twist lock style feedneck similar to the VS series, while the 09 model uses a clamping style feedneck similar to a CCM feedneck.

Yep thats it, the feedneck.
Honestly if you are tight on money, the 08 feedneck is just fine. Or if you prefer a different type than on the 09, get the 08 and buy the type you like. Either way its a very solid marker

Does the clamping style work that much better?
Thanks for the info, appreciate the help!

yes, with the twist style, its hard to get smaller necked hoppers to fit.

True. Clamping will be better than twist, but with twist if your hopper is a little loose, just put a little e-tape on the hopper neck.

i think their the same exept for the feedneck and they switched the sides the hose plugs into.
if it were me i would prolly just get a 09 for $30 more you get a newer gun, i dont know if there were any bugs in the electra at first but if there were then they would prolly be fixed in the 09 model.

Yeah true. still no confirmation on the solenoid plunger length, whether they changed it or not... (as drefish did)
Maybe a bored valve (like John did)

valve will stay stock.
solenoid pin was fixed iirc, kingman made new ones, i've had people say they sent their gun in to correct this issue.

If the clamping feedneck looks decent then get the 09, simply because they *hopefully* fixed any issues the 08 may have had. Otherwise I'd say go for an 08 and just buy a nice clamping feedneck, it would probably cost you the $30 you saved but I doubt Kingman's is too great...
