well i put a virtue chip in my vlocity and POP i see a spark and smell smoke. the damm chip fried my board. anyone eles have this issue? i know 100% it was installed correct and BAMMM no more hopper dammmmmmmmm it!
dumb question, but did you take out the batteries before you connected the chip? if not, then YOU fried your board. The cip will arc as it is installed(if the batteries are installed) because it is not grounded or charged. sorry man.
I just installed the chip. I haven't had any problems yet. What was your procedure?
1) Remove Batteries
2) Remove Old Chip
3) Replace with Virtue Chip in the correct direction
4) Connect the motor to the chip
5) Ensure switch is in the off position
6) Replace batteries
7) Switch on the Test
When did the 'Pop' happen? Following the steps above:
A) After you put in the chip (Step 3)
B) After you connected the motor (Step 4)
C) After you connected the batteries (Step 6)
D) After you switched it on (Step 7)
it popped when i turned it on. i been using viewloader hoppers for 12 years. never had any real issues and i been involved with paintball for 12 years im not new to the proper procedures of modifying or upgrading hoppers or markers. its obvious that something is or atleast was and not on my behalf
I'm not saying you are. This was for my benefit, so I can attempt to diagnose what happened. It was in no way any attempt to offend you. I'll have to go home and look at my board. I'm not sure what that piece is next to what I think is a power transistor. Looks like you have the original chip in there now (by the looks of the picture) But at this point, I would try to take Virtue up on their Lifetime warranty/Bulletproof guarantee. Did you buy the chip new or from someone?
