Reclassed?

It seems that almost everyone (on the Xball #1 rosters at least) has been reclassed. I've never played anything under d3 and I am d5 now.

Any idea why?

I think they are still getting everything straightened out from the new Universal classification system. I'm D5 in psp right not but D3 in CFOA.

Please dude, don't bring more of that into this thread. He asked what the cause for this was, not what possible problems it could cause.

it's just like anything else that is being updated, there are always glitches in the systems and such, then after a few days everything gets situated and everyones ranked what they are suppose to be

It's not rocket science. Players have been re-classed in CFOA but not in PSP... what you are seeing is the end result. I suppose it's like everything else in the CFOA... players/teams will simply have to deal with it.

Under the new universal classification system, all the years of 5-man and 3-man mean less then x-ball.

If you read into it, you can be a d-3 5-man player and never play an xball event, and you can play any level xball you want for 1 time.

Once you play your second x-ball event that is when your xball ranking is locked in.

This is so players can find their skill level in x-ball.

Yes there will be some glitches, but the universal classification system has to start somewhere. If all goes as I have been told after 2 events everyones xball level will be determined.

It is a year of changes for everything.

No you are not right... Players/Teams simply do not have to deal with it. Go play somewhere else. If you don't like what other leagues are doing... GO START YOU OWN...

You simply do not have to deal with it, you make the choice to play CFOA, no one forced you into it!

Ahhh yes. You are correct. Taking a quick look at the list of teams that have signed up for the first events I'd say quite a few teams have taken your advice.

My team has been struggling with a moral dilemma with the reclassing. We played all the events in D5 last year and didn't do so well. The new classification system came out and we didn't do well enough last season to be reclassed. On one side of the coin we feel we should "bump up" to D4 but due to full time work schedules (Saturdays included) we would have to bump to D3 to continue to play on Sundays. We are not ready to jump up 2 divisions. Then there's the other side of the coin. Stay D5 because the system tells us to and then bump to D3 next season. The problem with this is that for the 2009 we risk the chance be called "cheaters" and "sandbaggers" all year. If we do well we want it to be because we have worked hard. It has us in a tough spot. It sucks feeling that we have practiced and worked hard to improve, and if we win, that we will be criticized and scrutinized for doing so.

play the lowest you can plenty of room to move up, if you smash people first event, maybe try d3, get smashed, dont play d3 anymore.

FYI... No one has been reclassed. There was a temporary glitch within the system that was caused by the lack of a "Semi-Pro" classification in the CFOA portion of the APPA. When we moved over to the Universal Classification System the lack of a Semi-Pro classification caused some weird things to happen to the rankings of some players. That has been fixed now. The reclasses that took place in 2008 expired on 12/31/08. Everyone is back to their proper ranking. NOBODY has been reclassed in 2009.
