Depending on what type of gun you have...disconnect the macro line from the Asa, put the tank on the marker and turn the Asa on and drain the air from the tank.

First Of all dont shoot out the air. What i would do so i dont empty the tank is put the gun between my legs and try turning as hard as i can. Nothing bad will will happen. hope this helps.

it seems his problem is the valve pin isnt working, so he cant just put it on a gun and drain it since his air isnt getting out past his valve pin when its depressed.

OP im not really sure how to help, thats the first time ive ever heard of a faulty valve pin that wont let air out since usually they leak when somethings wrong.

your best bet might be to talk to the reg's manufacturer and see if theres another way to empty the tank before changing the reg.

I would just contact ANS and see what they can do for you. The worst that could happen is they can't help but may put you in touch of the manufacturer.

You could always just get a new reg and screw it into your existing bottle

If you do get a new reg, let us know what gun you have so we can suggest the best match.

I mean, there are regs that are adjustable like Ninja's and GA's, but I don't suggest GA since they won't fit on all markers and have iffy quality as far as valve stems and pistons are concerned. I hate ninja since the bonnets and reg bodies are made out of aluminum, which shouldn't be the case. If it is, then they're doing something wrong since they're so soft and weak and prone to breakages, stripping, cross threading, etc.

I like Crossfire's older 4500psi regs (blue/red) and the newer ones are ok. Earlier SS regs were sketchy to my knowledge, but now, they're plain awesome.

CP tank regs are amazing as well (unlike most of their products), but are ****ing expensive. Consistent, comfortable and durable, though!.

Nothing important to add, but I was wondering.....did they ship it empty and you filled it?

If they warranty it (and it sounds like they should), I don't think you can ship back to them full of air. I'm interested to hear what they suggest.

Are you sure there is even any air in it? Sounds dumb but...........look at the gauge and make sure.

The only possible way the air wouldn't come out is if the pin valve has an oring seal on the bottom and the oring has slipped out of it's home creating a permanent seal. Even that is pretty sketchy though since it would leak around the pin because the orings aren't a perfect fit on the pin. Meaning, even this situation is pretty unlikely. I've never in 23 years seen this happen.

Of course it's an ANS product so anything is possible :/

Haha just my thought upon reading this. OP made it sound like the tank didnt work out of the shipping box. Hopefully that is the only thing wrong.

If it has been filled with air then its not like he can ship it back to ANS either (since its pressurized).

The whole thing seems fishy to me. "Hey, why can't you just open the box and start using it." I think you nailed it.

hey i work on the air tanks at my park an have gone to all the classes. the best thing to do is just screw it into an ASA that not on a gun and let the air bleed out. if that dosent work then bring it to a pro shop cause taking the burst disk off is another thing you can do but not always the safe way to do stuff. so take it to you park an let one of the gun tecs fix it so you dont get hurt. hope this helps some

I'm hoping that since he's a 2009 user he would know they don't come full from ANS lol.

OP hasn't chimed in lately. I wonder if he figured it out? Seriously, how could this even happen with air in the tank?
You have a pin, a spring and an o-ring. It wouldn't be nice to say it's ... nevermind.

or maybe he held onto it and it carried him away.

but really i too would like to know what comes of this. its a pretty rare/odd problem....only thing i can think of that seems halfway safe is to remove a burst disk, but i still wouldnt want to be the one doing it lol.
