Taking Off Screw

One of my Etek2 screws that covers the bbs, is messed up and doesnt have the hexagonal shape for the allen key to go in. It scraped and became circular and now i cant take it off. I bought new screws for it but the problem is that now i cant take it off. How can i solve this problem.

Couple options, I would first try to JB weld a Allen wrench in there and take it out that way. If that doesn't work cut a slot in the screw with a cutoff tool and use a flat head screwdriver to take it out.

ive had that happen before....if your lucky you can superglue or jb weld an allen key in place and let it dry and it will hold long enough to take it out..next option is a dremel with a small cutoff wheel and make a small groove so you can use a flathead screwdriver. just be careful not to slip unless you like some nice scratches.

Place a wide rubber band on top of the screw head then try to unscrew the screw slowly pushing really hard. Sometimes the rubber will give you the extra grip needed to get that screw out.

Not really, this is a problem about screws in general, not something specific to an ego. And who hasn't owned an ego? People go into the ego forum to post about a problem, but there is nobody in there actually answering questions like you would get if you posted in the autococker or angel forum.

only problem with those is that on ego eye covers the hex holes are so shallow you cant get one of those in place, why i didnt recommend it for this issue as ive had the same problem before, and the screws are too small to drill down into so you can get one in. they work great for slightly bigger things like grip frame and asa screws though.

Ah yes, I forgot about that factor on the Egos. There may not be a way to escape the damage caused by drilling out the eye cover screws a little bit to get additional area.

Then just pop a new eye cover on there if you can find a matching accent kit.
