Turmoil, Who do you play for? Looks like your gear is ready for the road, unless you are a big enthusiast with a deep pocket.
Also, would that happen to be a ampeg 6x12? for guitar or bass?

my gear set up:

Guitar:
Epiphone Les Paul Studio
Gibson Les Paul Menace
Fender Strat-o-coustic
Eko Acoustic
Gladden Tele copy

MXR Zakk Wyde Overdrive
MXR Badass 71 Distortion
Dunlop Hendrix Fuzzface
EH Big Muff Pi (tone wicker)
Boss Flanger
MXR Carbon Copy Delay

Vox AC30 CCX2
Vox Lil Night Train

Bass:
Epiphone Les Paul Bass
Ibanez Destroyer (Yup 80's Destroyer)

Ampeg Rocket Bass B100r

I started playing in bands when I was 14 and my gear has progressed to what I have now.
The sound I get from the Vox is "that sound" that I always wanted. I run mine with the gain at about 25% with the normal & top boost channels bridged. Depending on what guitar I use the amp goes from clean (tele) to crunchy (menace).
The Ampeg Rocketbass amp is pretty versatile. I can drive it hard and have it overdrive or have it run clean

7 string jackson. Don't actually have an amp. I just use BIAS + JamUp on my pone. Anyone know a way I could use that and play through a cab?

Not sure unless your phone has an output/headphone jack you aren't using. I need my computer + head + 2nd amp to play without headphones, and by that point the tone is all ate up.

Nice guitar

Guitar Center is doing that deal where you get a free $10 promo card for every $50 gift card you buy. Father's Day discounts are usually 15% and don't apply to all items, this is essentially a 20% discount.

also, know when you go to buy something and see that list of 1 billion non-participating manufacturers? They participate if you order via the 800 number from GC or musician's friend, full warranty and all that.

That Mesa looks tiny as hell. What is that?

And I'm going to get a Ditto X2. There really isn't any that can beat it in terms of simplicity. They're really really rad.

I want a 2x12 though. I'm getting super tired of hauling my 4x12 around. I love the sound but **** having an almost 100lbs cabinet.

I would also very much like one of these:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/ampli...uitar-amp-head

I've heard one in person and they're super impressive for a $150 20W amp. Kind of want to snag a 1x12 or 1x10 to **** with it.

Mark V Twenty-Five. Two channel, 25/10 watt version of the Mark V. Love it so far.

Didn't even know they made those. That looks dope as ****. How much did you pick that up for?

Obviously it won't be the same as a 50 or 100w Mesa, but does it retain the same dynamics and articulation for the most part?

Also, are you on the Pittsburgh Music Gear Forum on facebook? If not, you should be:

They run about $1300. Reviews say they're on par with "full-size" Mark Vs though, and they're packing EL-84s.

I'm really glad lower wattage amps are getting popular. Until playing them in store, I had no idea how loud and full sounding a 5w through a 1x12 could be, but scaling down to a 1x10 seems to make a big difference. I've always been under the impression that you need EL-84 or 34s with 100 watts through a 2 or 4x12 to get great sound, but companies are using different tubes to voice them properly. Even the 1 watt tubes sound massive matched with the right speaker.

Well, companies are having to adapt to the fact that 1. most musicians these days are not big gig-hitting road performers, 2. not many people are selling out huge theaters and stadiums, and 3. modern sound techniques in clubs don't require you to need a 50-100w amp anymore. You only really need your amp to be heard over the drummer these days, and that's just for during practice. You're better off having a lower wattage amp that you can crank for full tube warmth and distortion for using in a studio environment, then mic it up to a PA to play out.

I expect in the next 5-10 years we'll see most of the amp market dedicating itself to much more efficiency in the power-to-volume department. People want great sound but it's not about being loud anymore. They want balance and fidelity.

Might pick up the original Ditto tonight to try it. Looks like it'll do everything I want except for the extra backing tracks which would be nice, just don't have the money for the x2.

With Mesa, Orange, ENGL, and a few others putting out full featured heads hopefully the future is good sound at a lower cost and lower volume. I'd take lower volume over cost really. $2000 for a 5-10-25 watt 4 channel head would be perfect.

$2000? All my gear combined cost around $3k . Gotten amps for free, discounts on pedals, $500 off my Ibanez from Rich, Schecter was a floor model, etc.

So I bought the Ditto. Very fun for the first hour, then I got food, came back and the switch doesn't register every click. Not sure whether to swap it for another or just return it and stay away.
