When my IAC went bad, it would take like 10 seconds of cranking and when it finally started it ran awful for a few minutes until warmed up. I would test that and replace the NTC plug maybe?

there are two temp sensors, one below the distributor and one beneath the intake manifold against the block. From what I'm told the blue one under the intake plays a big role in cold starts

Yeah same here. The seals are shot and oil just leaks through it into the cap I know I'll **** it up if I try to take it apart and rebuild it.

looked at a 91 c9kt, guy wanted $1k. too much rust for me, car was nice mechanically though. a/c even worked, lol

Yea, but a boot is like 15 bucks, vs 200 for an axle on your non daily driven car.
