rotor ghetto foam feed, losta pics & vid

I've used feedfast, they are nicer quality but making a foam feeding system is a lot cheaper & works about the same.

I used my foam feed for the first time this weekend, works freaking tits.
lost about 5 balls diving into snake
lost about 8 balls knocking over my gun like a dum ***.

the only thing left is to see how long it will last until it needs replacement.

I think a big sheet of foam is about $1, makes approximately 15. I got the foam at walmart. target might have it. michaels has it for sure.

materials:
2mm foam
3/32 allen key
string (or compass)
measuring tape/ruler
scissors
fresh razor

1.
-take apart the top of your rotor

2a.
-tie a loop in your string (big enough for allen key)

-measure 1 5/8 inches & make another loop (for pencil)

-the measurement should be taken when the string is being pulled apart by the allen & pen

-stick allen on foam, draw circle using the string as your guide, cut out the circle

2b.
-use compass to draw circle w/a radius of 1 5/8 inches, cut out the circle

*it should fit on the top piece & stay there*

3.
-there should now be a dent from where you put the allen key, lay it down across the dent & draw 3 or 4 lines evenly spaced apart.

*i used 4 cuts, 8 flaps, works really well.

4.
-Use the razor to start a cut in the middle.

-Cut about an inch into each flap starting from the middle

5.
-sandwich it into the top piece

-if you cut it right you can stick the foam on the colored piece and set it on the black piece.

6.
-screw back together, tightening screws evenly.

look down thread for pic's, basically tabs broke off

7.
-use razor cut slits out to the edges

-I went all the way until the razor stopped

*this is why I say fresh razor, you can see the hole where I messed mine up using a dull razor.*

8.
-BLAM, load faster.

cutting the circle smaller than I said will usually result in the foam falling out of the shells.

I'm not really sure how often these need replacing, I've only used it once.

vids, shake test:

sorry for the quality, phone is my only video capturing device

I used 3mm foam on the first few, it did prevent balls from falling out as much but they don't go in very well.

With the 2mm foam they don't come out that much, when is your loader ever upside down?

In the side shake test they only started coming out after a few good shakes, & no balls came out when I was shaking it vertical (hopefully like when your diving)

pics from wcppl w/foam feed

I have to much free time on my hands...

Don't protractors measure angles? I think you meant a compass.

If you cut out spaces for the pegs to go through then you can make the
overall diameter of the disc a hair bigger and you shouldn't have the problem
with it slipping out of place. See here:

it a lot easier to put together and keep centered. Here are pics:

have you tried double layerign the foam material? it might add a bit more strength to the device, and help prevent balls form falling out as much.

Hey All,

Took a silicon baking sheet as material and cut out a feed. Took 20 minutes trace and cut. Cost was 2 bucks

The silicon is very durable and tough, I'm thinking about taking a single hole puncher to the edges so tehre isn't so much material holding the fins up. I'm sticking pod through the feed tonite to see if it'll losen them up.

Have a look. ENJOY!!!

making the compass wasn't too hard, I'll make a vid of how I did it b/c I can see how it can be tricky.

Try this,

Take the top cap of the rotor (the colored part you unscrew) and trace the inner circle, then go around the house and find a cup that is just slightly larger than the circle you just drew (you can measure it on the exposed part of the top shell first to see how it would fit. Center it and trace around that.

now you know how big to make the feed and where to stop cutting once it reaches the edge.
