DON'T BUY THE EOS (don't make the same mistake i did)

seriously i wasted 400$ on one of these things when they first hit the market and i regret it. Lemme just make an easy to swallow list of pros and cons.....

PROS
-nice, easy to walk, trigger
-comfortable reg
-cool body styling
-stock freak jr
CONS
-THE PRICE, this thing is honestly an ion, i KNOW you hate hearing that cuz i know i did but it seriously is. it has ion internals, board, reg (basically). The only differences between the two are the heavy metal body of the Eos, an on/pff ASA that doesn't have a bleed, and an upped trigger/triggerframe. FOR $300 MORE THIS ISNT WORTH IT
-its HEAVY, compared to a DP G3 or other guns in it's price range it's a beast
-the "awesome new body stylings" are honestly a b*tch to clean, unless you want ur marker clogged with old paint (or if you have magical powers so ur gun never gets hit) then your going to be completely disassembling ur marker when you want to clean it
-even though it boasts interchangeable firing chambers, they are utterly useless, with most of the tubes i got basically the same chamber pressure and the small change some of them do make is not worth the price
-the bolt-out-back design is nothing new, and it's easy-to-strip design doesn't make up for its plastic internals

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE EOS
-at first it shot beautifully, but i soon ran into problems with the reg, a shattered firing chamber, and inconsistency

MY ADVICE- DON"T BUY THIS MARKER
-IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT- but something in the range of a Geo, DM (i got a DM8 a few months after the Eos and it's obvious how much more consideration DYE puts into their markers), or Droid, or other single tube style marker (if thats ur preference)
-IF YOU NEED THAT PRICE RANGE- get something like a DP G3 (super light), or PMR/SLG

well, if you already bought this gun i hope ur somewhat enjoying and if you havn't yet i hope you can learn from this thread i'm not a smart parts hater or anything, their just running business. all im sayin is for you to not buy their sh*tty marker =P

What plastic internals?

The bolt stop? The fire bolt is aluminum and the chamber inserts are aluminum. The only plastic piece on the entire marker is the bolt stop.

The EOS is a good marker, the chamber inserts are so you can keep your pressure up while firing at lower velocities such as for reball. This reduces the drop off at high rates of fire.

i see you pointed out its weight, i like the weight of the eos, it makes me feel like i am actually holding onto something. yes the g3 is like but that also has a insane amount of kick compared to the eos, im not ragging on the g3 its a good marker its just not for me. i saw a quote once that summed up the whole vs between high end markers and markers from product like smartparts and dp.

"Originally posted by HOTRACER_05:A paintball out of a $1500 gun does the same thing as one out of a $200 gun, as long as you like your gun your good."

get a gun that works for you, dont let anyone make up your mind for you. this guy doesnt like the eos, thats ok, its not for everyone. get a marker that fits you.

A lot of paint is gonna fly through that gun tomorrow

lol same as mine? how do you know what color i got? i honestly think the black/red one is the best looking one but my black/pewter one is nice. it hasn't let me down once and its grown on me now. i had a chance to trade for a pmr, but realized i would only trade for a lighter gun and more firing modes, which i won't ever use unless messing around in my backyard.

whoever mentioned kick is right, since this is all based on personal preference, though lighter guns are easier to move with (my opinion) they do have less stability on average. anyways, i hope your enjoying your new marker and hopefully it lives up to your own preferences

I have an EOS, an UP'd ION, an EtekII w/Star Frame and a V2 Mini. The mini kicks like a mule but is SICK, the ION is always down some O-ring somewhere is bad, the EOS I have few problems out of, and the Etek II has never let me down. The only problem I have had out of SP Guns are Orings and if you get the Reg up to 200PSI or more they bolt stick like crazy.

Your sale thread...I made an offer... Remember? Haha. Ended up getting the same color with some sweet ups for only $250. Barely a scratch on it so I couldn't pass it up. Although I must admit, the price tag was one of the only reasons I went with it. I don't think I would've spent $400 on a new eos. And yeah...The black/red is the best looking one. I'd have gone with that if I had the option

For the price I paid, I love my eos. I don't need a crazy expensive gun for playing some recball every other weekend. I don't need to shoot 20+bps on full auto. I need a consistent, accurate gun that doesn't chop and that's what I got. Not to mention that this gun is sexy as hell. I'm happy

I'll post some pics in the official thread in a couple days.

I purchased a demo EOS for 290 last July. Black \ Olive. I’ve used this gun consistently since then in woods ball & speedball. I really have experienced no issues with this gun. It shoots with no kick, is accurate & quite. I get somewhere around 1000 -1100 shots with a 68/45 tank. Really my only complaint about the gun is the ASA. It is difficult to screw in the tank, so I would suggest an ASA upgrade. I also have an Etek that shoots awesome. My only complaint on this gun is that it is slightly on the loud side. I will not flame on either company as all products have pros & cons. There a lot of variables that go into a purchase. Ex: Price – Quality. Test when possible and buy what works best for you. No need to flame. Just give us the pros & cons of your experience. Thanks

well its not really a fade, i have a liquid eos and its more like little scracthes that takes the shine away, but a little turtle wax and she shine right back up, the scratches are very fine but show up so well cuz the finish.
