My brother used to have a sim-3 or 4 which has long since broken. I've been canabalizing parts off it to make him a new scenario gun and I've been modifying a DM3 to do so. One of the problems I'm having however is matching the barrel- I used to own a barrel that looks identical to whats under the shroud of the akrion but it's since been stolen from me. Anyone know what kind of barrel akrion uses? Its not their own make, you can see where they've spun off the old threads.

they make their own. it is spyder thread, but the aftermarket spyder threaded barrels don't fit airakon guns. The part of the barrel that adapts to firing chamber is too long. I found this out by trying to thread a barrel into my sim-15.

the end of the ariakon barrel has a half inch dead space and the spyder barrels have a 3/4 inch dead space but the spyder barrel will work on a sim 4 with no problems and if you are worried cut 1/4 inch off a spyder barrel and then your good to go but I would not personally do that. because you really dont have to cut it down.

I personally would cut the whole damn gun in half because that's all is good for is cuttin' practice. Everybody needs to know how to work a saw.
