No. One of the reasons for the ROF change is so that people move more.

Here is a solution i have been thinking about to consider to change the format, but clear the confusion.

Make the gun restrictions the same across the board. 10 bps is slow and non-intimidating. It would be easy to set your guns to 10 bps ramping but not as easy putting a 10 bps rof cap on semi. Some players will have to go out and purchase new boards for their guns, some others may not be motivated to do so, resulting in not participating in the series.

Maybe have Level 4 an exception and make it the same as it was in the past. You can't shake and shoot past 10 bps...

Just my opinion

im not sure we can afford to purchase new boards right now is the only problem. we are on a very limited budget right now. I think we have some back up guns we can cap, but idk. we will play in the series no matter what, if it means dusting off our old mechanical markers we will do it, the series is awesome, wouldnt miss it for anything.

I was looking at the manual for the mini and you can adjust the boards down to 10.5 bps. If the PSP does decide to go with that like I've heard, then your fine. If not, I'm sure you can send the boards in and get them flashed instead of going off and buying a new board.

I played 10 ramping today and I have to say it felt more like semi then it did ramping(laning and movement). I think most players at the point of l3, and with modern guns, can pull off a constant 10 in semi. Dan I think that ramping in l3 wouldn't necessarily be such a bad thing.

I like that it will be semi. It will make you better players if your not relying on ramping. I want to save paint. Its to easy just to throw balls out there when your ramping because it so easy. I think it should stay the same. I'm sure most people in level 3 do aswell. I really don't think dan will change it. Its been this way for years. I think everyone will get use to it after awhile. Just like they did when it droped from 15 to 13

I tried it on ramping and it just seemed slower, once you get a feel for it its not that bad. I switched over to semi and it felt a little different at first but again after a few games of it i wasnt even noticing.

so the question is if MPS will allow us to shoot at 10.5 or if it has to be 10 bps on the dot. if it does we will have to send in boards and get them flashed i guess.

I agree with Dan and the guys at PSP on the reasons for the rate cap.
High rates of fire were killing the sport. New players were very intimidated when they where confronted with other players shooting 15+ on their expensive equipment. In the last few years we have seen a number of decent markers in the mid price range, but it still takes $800 to get all the equipment setup if you are new to the tournament scene. Even a cheap practice will run $50 with no travel. Then you go to an event and spend another several hundred more dollares to get beatup by the more experienced teams.
These are the main reasons why events at the end of the year have half as many participants as the early year events. A large percentage of the new players either quit the sport completely or go back to rec play where they have more fun and spend considerably less money.
I was in the sport many years ago when electronic markers were just coming out and the manufacturers held them to 13bps and everyone had fun. Then some guys purchased a company "which will not be named" and markers started coming out that were not capped. The progress in marker and programming technology has been huge, and I will admit that I really enjoy shooting as fast as I can, but it has eroded our sport to the point where fewer people are now playing than last year. (and yes, economic conditions are also impacting the number of players and how often current players go out.)
The sport I love needs this change if it is going to move forward and grow again. If someone really needs to shoot faster, move up to the levels that support it. As for me, I look forward to seeing more players using skill to win and not just beating their opponents down with a higher rate of fire.

Man i really hope they add a decimal to that 10 otherwise i will have to be in the market for another gun. I think most virtue boards will go as low as 10.5. I sure hope that will be ok..

now I have to send my board to kee to get itflashed because you can't cap the mini's stock board on semi but you can with ramping.

that doesn't help solve the problem of saving people money...for your entry level competitors it wouldn't be a bad idea of an rof cap of 10bps....but for the upper divisions its a bit silly.

Personally i'm all for uncapped semi.

my 2 cents.
