Here is what I can tell you. We will offer both 3 and 5 man tournaments this year.
DONT HOLD ME TO THIS.
Were aiming for the first events to be ran on April 11th and 12th. Rookie 3-Man on the 11th and D3 5-Man on the 12th (Sunday). We classify D3 as being players Ranked D3 or lower by the APPA. More details will follow, Jon and I will be meeting in Columbus on Tuesday-Wednesday to finalize ALL details.

Yes. But that was the only weekend we could ref the event the month of April. We have the GPL event the following weekend then have to get ready for the DC USPL event.
With that said.
Were going to have to hold the first Splat events in May. It looks like the 9th and 10th. I talked with Jon and they are having issues with the ground and getting equipment to the field to drill the holes for the poles. Plus, he wants to make sure that everything is PERFECT for the new opening of his field. I will have the tournament costs, dates, and prizes for the entire season finalized by thursday of this week.
Other news. Splat will have the 2009 xball field upgrades (including the new half X), along with the `08 upgrades. Jon also has air connections outside of his building and will offer 4500/3000 fills all day long. Also, the pro shop with-in yelling distance of the playing field. No more golf cart rides!! Also, the new staging area is HUGE. Unlike the last spot, he will have more than enough room for every team.
Ill keep the updates coming as I get them.

Are you guys going to have team practices? It would be nice to get a couple of local practices in this season against some different teams.

Yes! It will be BYOP with a small entry, or you will be able to buy paint at a VERY low cost. More info will be posted on this as Splat gets closer to opening.

okay, I"ve been out of town for a week, and have missed some stuff.
Has Splat set a formal opening date yet at Clay's park?
How about tournament dates, any news there either?

I think he is going to open the wodds ball field mid April, but dont quote me on this. As far as the Airfield, I will have an answer on that today and post it back up.
Here is a link to all the tournament dates for Splat Bill, along with some classifications.

Too bad there are no local tournies with an Open Class anymore. Its understandable tho... not enough teams to play it.

yup. only way to run an open event is have all the teams pay up front and create a cash prize each event and one big one based off of series points.
