My new to me, and FIRST, jeep. I've been offroad guy for years with a self-built ford ranger pre-runner, dirt bikes out the wazoo, then an old baja bug, but now the need for 4-doors/seats (read: family) and 4wd, brought me to a 1990 XJ for $1200. rebuilt 4.0 a few years ago, everything works, veerrrryyyy little rust, and smooth shifting tranny (giggity)

First round of parts in the mail! Got the basic tune-up stuff to do tomorrow: cap/roter, plugs/wires, oil/filter, air filter. And my lift kit should arrive saturday as well. After reading the stellar reviews here I went with the 3" series II lift from Rough Country with full leaf packs for the rear. Can't wait to get it installed! Also ordered my JD2 tubing bender and 1.5" die set to start fabricating bumpers, rock rails, stinger, maybe tire carrier and a roof rack. It's on!

Same here. I've been battling a CEL on my 03 TJ the last week or so. Was supposed to go out to the Desert for an annual event, but I don't think I'll be able to make it. I bought a new gas cap, and some other things hoping that'll cure my CEL. If so, I may still be down to go. Hopefully in the next week or so (as long as the CEL goes off, and stays off) I want to install the lunchbox locker I bought into my D30.

My CEL finally cleared after two years. It was cracked lines off the charcol canister behind the rear wheel. Probably not the same location but could be the same issue. I chased it around for a while.

Checked all that. I think I found the problem though. Time will tell.

Thing is, I have registration due on March 8th, and I need to smog it too. So it's gotta be fixed by then.

If the CEL is out, you automatically fail iirc.

So far, its been about 80 miles and that's usually when the light comes back on and its off (knock on wood).




Made it so I can use my smittybilt duster with the rampage bowless soft top. Supposed to be raining the next few days so I prepped it for that. Debating on whether to go with the full wrap-around bestop windjammer.

Also, going to return the lockright locker and buy an 8.8 to put in the rear instead and get rid of the Dana35.

I won't touch the LP30 in mine. I'll toss the 8.8 I'm looking at buying and just run 2WD till I can find a good priced HP30, and then I'll go from there.
