The CFOA Tournament Series, the largest five-man paintball league in the world, and the PSP, the worldwide leader in the promotion of professional and divisional XBall tournaments, will host a joint referee clinic January 10 and 11 in Greenville, South Carolina. This joint clinic, hosted by the CFOA in conjunction with the PSP, will result in a referee certification for both the CFOA and PSP tournament series, allowing those who complete the class to become compensated referees at the two of the most popular and prestigious paintball tournament organizations in the United States.

The two-day joint referee clinic will include one day of classroom instruction at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites conference center in Duncan, SC‎, followed by a day of on-field, situational training at Paintball Central Sports Park Greenville, all taught by PSP Ultimate Official Tim Schroepfer. Cost for the entire referee clinic, including both classroom and on-field instruction, is $85. Classroom instruction begins promptly at 10am Saturday morning, with registration required via the APPA system. As space is limited, interested potential referees are encouraged to register early.

is there an age requirement?

I reffed all last season and I'm not aware of a set in stone age requirement. Its really your maturity level as much as age, being able to talk to a player properly and professionally, being able to handle the pressure of getting into a situation and making a call based on what you saw, sometimes getting the piss shot out of you, etc.

The biggest thing is can you drive to events. If you can legally drive you are probably old enough to ref.

And I found things out today in almost 6 years of reffing I never thought about.
It was a great chance to improves ones game as well.

Wish you guys could have reffed us on saturday also. We had 2 more great teams there saturday that couldn't make it sunday. Junkies and Hot shot kids.
