First off, NEVER call a Paintball Marker a Paintball "Gun" especially to a cop.

To the experts here on the forum giving out bad advice....It's not illegal in every state to play at an outlaw field...giving permission and having insurance is all that is needed here...as long as you are following local or county regulations and codes...
Here in Florida....my county allows paintball as long as adults are with the minors...The same even goes for BB guns....if a minor is shooting a BB gun in the woods...ticket....if an adult is with a minor....no problem...
So to stop those posting back...how do I know?.....let's say the attorney and the law enforcement officers say so.......who also play....
I different in every state, county or city/township...........
And those who say outlaw fields are dangerous.....that's just a general statement....how about an outlaw field who doesn't use a chrono or enforce safety policies is dangerous.......
Other then that...it's not anymore dangerous........

Well in Canada if your on my property and your a bad guy, i can take my 12 gauge out with no questions. But this is only out of city limits on farm land.If the cop steped onto privet property he can be charged as well with trespassing.I can also shoot as many bears and animals i want off my property and have killed 30 black bears in one year. That cop was in the rong and he could have been dischared with out a warrant.
NOW! Back to Steve Earle Music lol.

Define outlaw ball.
The only paintball I play is "outlaw ball." We play and practice on a field that is on someones property. But we follow all safety issues. So what makes it so different from a "real" field?

Insurance. Safety officers. Chronographs. Rules.
Though you may have rules and chronos, it's impossible to make all outlaw fields have them.

lol my aunts the police cheif i just ask if it helps to know jane doe and they say only if we call her up im like no problem
but my understanding of my local laws are if i am on privet property and let me quote the aunt Not endangering anyones safety im fine and the safety is too be judged by the officer called out to the land i ride my dirtbikes and no one gives a **** but as soon as i bring out the paintball gun this lady brings in her kids and locks her door calls 911 and says i have a gun i went over too her house i saisd lady stop calling the cop they allow me to shoot into the woods behind my house ok and she told me that playing war is not ok for her kids to see i said **** u ***** and left ever since i have the police officer write down the rule and sign it when they come out and show it to her so she shuts up and says maybe a real cop will come one day

So many misinformed individuals here.
Anywhere the state will let you discharge firearms legally you can play paintball on.
Here in Colorado, that includes Federal/National parks. You are allowed to discharge firearms without a hunting license or gun permit. Heck, you can even open carry in most of Colorado.
There are plenty of guys that go up into the mountains to play woodsball.

WTF its only a hundred dollars but we want to continue to play there dose anyone have any ideas how legally we can deal with this, believe me I thought of all the illegal ones
Also when is a paintball gun considered a firearm?
Code ordinance violation what happens if i don't pay?

I would fight the ticket, and also make sure you clearly mark off your property lines with private property signs. Police have no jurisdiction on private property, the only people that can cross on your property if it's marked private is the DNR.

I've been to "real" fields that were more dangerous then a highway full of drunken Meth heads. Some piece of paper saying you are now a certified ref doesn't mean crap, it's just paper.
This sport was born outlaw, and believe it or not outlaw is a HUGE market that will be here as long as people can buy paint. Do you really think Walmart stocks paint for tourney players? Seeing how most fields are FPO now, where do you think all the paint and gear from the big box stores go??
The only thing this kid may have done wrong, is shoot a paintballGUN in city limits. Save that Marker crap for your mom. It's a gun to anyone in law enforcement.

Or what Keeps people playing. Until you can get a field into every town in the US this is how the majority of people play. It isn't going anywhere and shouldn't.

I agree that outlaw ball can be dangerous, especially with minors (formerly known as kids) and no adults (who we dont call "Majors" but w/e) around, and small accidents and even serious injuries can happen. but i disagree that its illegal. it might be illegal to set up a speedball field in your back yard in the city or the suburbs, but in rural or unincorporated areas or state owned land (in most cases), its perfectly legal. some of the best fields are "outlaw" fields because you can build it to your liking or have a private place for your team to practice.
and has anyone here been to a sanctioned and regulated "real" field where people didnt get hurt and accidents didnt happen?? theyre called freaking accidents for a reason. the only difference is when someone gets hurt at "real" fields, theres alot more red tape and finger pointing involved. and yea theres always going to be that idiot that shoots his friend's eye out in the backyard, but those same idiots go to the "real" fields and take their masks off on the field.
just remember to ALWAYS check with that area's governing body and check local laws regarding paintball. and have a copy of said laws, and maybe signed permission from an official saying its ok, so you have something to show the cops when they freak out.
