Thanks for the above comments. This should at least be linked to in the stickies (at least that is my opinion!) Maybe it will inspire some more people.

use a chamfer bit for your drill. it will bore a cone shaped hole allowing the use of flat head screws without sticking up from the grip. flush stainless screws would look hot imo.

I agree....but you would need thicker Lexan as the lexan would be really thin and brittle where you recess it.

Just as an FYI---I will be receiving my Virtue board soon, and will try to take some pics/movie of the board with these grips.

Just made mine this weekend, and they are great. I used a countersink bit (chamfer bit), and they appear to be just as strong as if i would have left it normal.

I'll get some new pictures of my F8 and G7 sometime this week.

P.S. I'm entertaining the idea of using a laser engraver (also cuts through material) that my school has and see how they turn out using that

By the way people, I just weighed my gun with these grips on them and it weighs 2 lbs, 7 ozs with my J&J 14" barrel kit and battery. I think that is about a 3 oz savings. It is amazing how much lighter these are than the stock grips (weighing in over 4ozs).

I think plexi may work in a pich, but it is A LOT more brittle, so in cold temp you may have issues, and while drilling the material and tightening it down. Most places can order it for you however.

Also, dont take my word for it, as I havent had to use plexi.

...i have it chips very easily...you have to be alot more careful grinding it down and cutting it it tends to come off in chips...but is duable with alot of patience...i wouldnt recommend it though
