This is an idea that came to me in my sleep tell me whatcha think

I was sleeping last night and had a weird dream. I was sitting on the field with an ego in my hands but there was something weird about this ego! There was no trigger?? So I got to thinking about the fact that there was no trigger and came up with these two ideas.

Can you replace the trigger on a paintball gun with a set of eyes (like breakbeam eyes) one eye on either set of the trigger guard or w/e would replace it so that everyimt eone of your fingers passes through the beam it shoots? I have had some help with the cons of that thought it would misfire a lot thought, but im sure that can be fixed with some sort of program.

And in my thinking i found that maybe the trigger could be replaced with some sort of touch pad that would activate the noid everytime your finger hit the pad. And i did some thinking about the cons of this and the pad could break easily im sure or dull out after a while but again im sure there are details that can be worked out.

This is just some thing I quickly thought of and I would like some of yalls opinions on this, and maybe could this by any change the way paintball guns are fired?? Please if anyone can post up some HELPFUL information about why this could or could'nt work. And please all you photoshop geniuses (I know ya'll are out there I've seen your work) if there is anyway you could put some things together to give me and idea of what it may looklike PLEASE DO IT.

And guys please this is just what came to me please dont flame me to **** this is something i would like to find out would work or not so thanks and happy posting.

you need to have an actual trigger. i think it would be in rules of a field cause i know its in the tournament rulebook.

I believe some company tried this a while ago
no one really bought it though + as the previous poster said, you currently need a trigger in most leagues

Was brought up several years ago. I seem to remember that one of the big problems was the safety concern. WAY easy to accidentally set it off.

So then what could be done to make it "SAFER" like make a program for it or a switch that activates it that you could throw before after you walked on the field and then turn back off after you get shot out ??

it was a mod done on 2k5 timmies (mostly) and freestyles I believe
I have no idea what it was called
I guess you COULD program a safe feature into the board but another problem is getting the beam system dirty. Also, how is it going to reset? will it just be breaking the beam once? Or a break and return? It would lead to VERY erratic firing speeds

what about a trigger that is set up with two switches? one at the top and one at the bottom, with the trigger being held in the middle and a magnetic push being applied on both the top and bottom of the trigger. technically one trigger pull would be one shot but you can walk the trigger and theoretically double your rof. that would be too sick

when you say reset?? i was kinda looking into it and doesnt SP have some sort of eyes for the breech which tells when theres something in the breech or am i wrong cause that can be broken and "reset" (i guess) over and over but please correct me if im wrong and as for switch idea im trying to figure it out with a visual lol but its not going through so if someone could elaborate on his idea and explain it more would be great

I'm not sure but I think he was saying it has already been thought of.

but my main question is to all you reading this is something that could do something new to paintball if you got enough people onto the idea and enough companies churning out guns with the idea???

If you wanted to look into a break beam trigger, the main concern would be safety, like Pump Scout said.

One way you could make it "safer" could be to install something like a grip safety like on a 1911. Basically, there is a big button on the back that you must depress with your hand (while your gripping the gun) before it can fire. You have to have a real firm grip with something like that, though.

But when I say that one little old mayor will die, well then everyone loses their minds! Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. so pretty much have a bigass button on the back of the grip that has to be held down in order for the gun to be operable?? and to elaborate on this idea would it be possible to maybe have a touch sensor or maybe even some sort of other type of scanner on the back of the grip that reads when there is an object (hand/) placed over it???
kinda like some lawnmowers, where you have to hold down that bar to keep the mower active ?? yeah that would make sense and thanks for the support everyone keep it coming

thank you for the support i thought it was an excellent idea i mean if companies got onto the idea and prduced some kind of prototype maybe people would jump on the idea to cause it could in reality make our lives easier or harder but thats really up to us to choose but please again correct me if im wrong
