Thumbs up Icu Paintball's Indoor Field Is Nice

I was there today and it is really nice. Sorry so many on this forum want to use their precious time bashing everyone...just play paintball.

Awesome job ICU crew. Many people will enjoy this field.

Until you post more and explain exactly why you like it and it doesn't suck I'm going to go with this...

Ok so the OP made a general statement, it is not a review so he owes nothing to you. No matter what kind of unbiased review comes about, you will still be a dick either way. So again like the OP stated quit complaining and actually get out and play, anywhere for that matter.

I made a general statement as well. I owe you nothing and you can still cry to your mom about the internet. If I wanted to play paintball today I would have no problems finding a field to go play at. I have no desire to play on Wood flooring. I asked for his review because he played at the field and had a good experience. I guess asking for a review about a positive experience is a bad thing???

Actually he was just making a general observation of the field, if he wanted to give a full review I am sure he would have. I played there and gave my impression in the ICU V2 post, but I will go ahead and post up a more formal review here.

Layout- Bunkers were set very well, the staff spent many hours making sure the bunkers were evenly spaced on both sides of the field.

Bunkers- ICU is using the newest Mighty bunkers, many people have talked alot of trash because they did not get Sup Air. The Mighty bunkers worked out very well, they are extremely durable and have a great features such as the pressure relief valve which if the bunker is over pressurized considerably the valve releases and exhausts air. This feature is great due to the fact that you will not have to worry about seams ripping when someone bounces on a bunker.

Floor- The biggest gripe I have seen thus far. The floor really did work out very well, you were able to get an excellent amount of traction off the break and when moving from bunker to bunker. It was proven that sliding is no problem on this floor. The wood is obviously hard so it is a good idea to have knee pads mostly for when you are trying to crawl through the snake your knees will take a beating.

Lighting- All the lights were switched over to a daylight type bulb before saturday. This change really made a dramatic change in the quality of light on the field. The field is very long so I personally feel another row of lights would help so it is easier to see from back to back.

Staff- The refs were very professional and really made some excellent calls, whenever you needed a paint check or anything they were there immediately to help out.

Anyways the field really did turn out very well, I for one am extremely happy that there is finally a field in Des Moines to play at. Todd spent alot of his time and money getting this place set up for all of us. Thanks again to ICU for getting this set up for the players.

The field is remarkably decent. Try sliding on the floor just once and you'll see there's nothing to worry about. Layout, prices, staff, all good to go.

Yea i have to admit the pics that were posted did make it look bad but im gonna get out there tomorrow and check it out for myself and not let some other stuck up guy make my decisions on if its bad or not it most likely wont be the greatest indoor but its close and if you wanna get good take the hand thats dealt and dont complain im not gonna play on it because its not up to my standards

the floor is really nice to be honest... the first weekend kinda sucked because the wood had was really really good traction, i went thursday and this has been 3 weeks since it opened and the wood is perfect now since paints on it and good traction still... i suggest knee pads and elbo pads for the snake tho... that can be a pain...

JJ, edit out that 2nd paragraph. Don't talk prices. Don't talk about the case thing.
Please edit it.

Do not discuss prices at all unless you know exactly what you are talking about.

I really liked this field, flooring wasn't bad at all on the wood floor, but you still had good traction to run, could use a few more lights, but thats not too big of deal to me at lease, very well run by todd and his crew, alot of good players and rec players showed up. over i had a great time, my team and i will be back again!!
