Possible Prize List for a 2009 MPS Event!
Okay everyone…. I’ve gone through and worked up an example of what the prize list could be for an event in 2009. This is NOT a confirmed list of prizes for any event… JUST an example.
This prize list is based on having at least 5 teams in L1, 15 teams in L2, 15 teams in L3 and 10 teams in L4. As always, if the number of teams is lower than the min. needed for this prize package, then the prizes will go down accordingly. However, if we exceed our min. number of teams, then the prizes will be increased accordingly!
As you see below, the prizes are much more appealing for the top prize as opposed to what it was in last year’s season. I hope you guys agree. ETEK’s in lieu of Minis.
As many of you already know, in order to afford these prizes, the entry for each level did increase and the prizes are now for the top 4 teams and not the top 6 teams as it was in the past. The cost of entry per level will more than likely be (not final yet):

Yikes, you pulled the money out of level 4 didn't you. First place is a 140 dollar gun? 2nd is a 60 dollar tank. The money got cut in half. I'm feel for the teams playing in that level. That should cut out any potential sand bagging in that level though and make it way more of a begginer level.

When I did a search on those guns, they come up with a price of 260 to 300… but you are right, when you search this marker on ebay, they come up at 140. I can do the mini’s for L4 and not hurt the budget.
On the other prizes for L4, it all depends on the number of teams we get overall. Keep in mind what I’ve said since the last event in 08 that I will be changed for the 09 season…. The level that will get spoiled this year is L1, then L2, then L3 and then L4. I’m doing this to attract more teams to the higher level (L1). L1 is where the teams should want to play at.

But those of us that just started playing and finished fairly well seem to be forced up to stay with decent prizes. I thought the competition was pretty good but then again this was the first time we have ever tried tourney style play and all of our team has a little over a year of PB experience period.

Works for me
Minis/G3 in L3 instead of a minion would be the only thing I want.

i think it's because this series has really been spoiled with the prizes. 3 mini's for l4 with a $180 entry fee is pretty good. i remember playing kops and winning bko's and icon's and spending like $300 for entry. dan said he is going to make the prize list better starting from the top and working his way down to encourage people to bump up. i think that's a great idea and he should stick by it.
if it's the sf trilly pro those things are going for like $270 nib on ebay. that's still not bad.

i don't even think the trilogys in l4 are even made anymore, and by the looks of it, that minis are vastly superior guns. I think that it would be better to put the minis in l4, becuase it just seems wierd to up the entry and lower the prizes just to fund the higher levels. just my two cents. The minions in l3 look great though, would move up for those, but we'd prob get blown away compared with some of those team's experience.
EDIT: basicaly i believe that minis will atract people to the MPS instead of other tourneys. a local one down in harrisonville last year was giving out trilogys at a cheaper entry fee.

Have you ever seen how the psp and nppl(RIP) entry fee's and prizes were structured. The lower divisions paid like dan is suggesting and the pro's got all the money.

Select fire trilogy's on ebay are going for 150 and i have found them for as low as 100 buy it now. i think ions would be a better prize. Atleast you could resell them no one wants anything to do with autocockers anymore unless they are pump.

Dan said he will do the minis. He made a mistake and didn't realize the other guns were that cheap at first. He must of found the price when they first came out. He's not giving away the select fires anymore. Come on people, read!
