Uh, not a good analogy. Aluminum bats would be a better analogy. Steroids cause health problems.

Good point. On a related note, ramping will shrink your testicles.

if psp switches to 10 bps, then I think ncpa should switch to that policy for consistency sake. I believe that we should have ramping at the same speed now, but if we stay in semi, no big deal. I am just a fan of when leagues share rules so a player can go from league to league. Just my 2 cents, now let me hear semi is a shooting skill...

I'm against ramping in our league. I like playing semi better because its harder and it rewards the people who have been practicing it. So

don't tell me your gonna start pulling penalties on us for stuff you can't prove too , we've had enough of that lately

Give him one of your guns, and let him rip on it... I didn't believe it either... you'll change your mind once you see it in person... he got his gun checked all the time at nationals last year, and literally every point at our first xball event, it's legit.

He was disappointed that NPPL went dead cause he thought he could make semi-pro with his fingers haha

Regardless, i think they is enough opposition in here that this is pretty much a dead issue, at least for now.

haha, like steroids to baseball- when will people learn

ramping may help people off the break of shoot with your off hand, but you still have to pull the trigger, and after the break where do most of the kills come from? the first 3 shots out of someones gun ether shooting someone blindly in the side or snapping, you still need to pull the trigger and you won't shoot anyone out if your first couple shots are too slow before the ramping kicks in, try this next sunday at practice, if you are snapping with someone, just sit in your bunker and watch them blow their paint, and as soon as they realize you're not shooting back, and if they dont move, you now have them back in square 1 to go and snap back with them again, but this time they are off guard because they think you are now engaged snapping again to the other side and lower on paint to finish the point. so it really is the first 3 shots if a game isn't determined by the stupidity of the players to sit out loose raining 10 pods of paint at whatever bps the ramp is set to, and the team who doesn't sit there on one spot and blow all their paint on one target, usually wins

this would be the perfect thing to test out in an exhibition game at nationals (assuming this goes through with psp). Like at a CONFERENCE ALL-STARR GAME!!

just my 2 cents.

I swear to God I'll slap a ***** if you switch it to 8bps ramping, I've already had to flash my Tadao board once so I could shoot 13bps. It only goes down to 10...

Also, I never really have a problem shooting semi against people ramping. It doesn't seem to effect the outcome of the game. The only time I thought we might have been at a disadvantage was when we played the All Americans and they were on NXL full auto 15bps, but then again maybe they were just good. Who knows...

Really? I'm sorry but to all of you who think shooting fast in semi is such a vital talent in paintball, you're greatly disillusioned (in my opinion).

Any board/trigger can be set up to be shot super fast by anyone. Ramping gets rid of any illegal advantages a player may have over the competition in regards to board/bounce/etc.

As I said earlier, I don't mind Semi or Ramping in NCPA either way, but some of these arguments for Semi are just so dumb (in my opinion).

First off, check your dictionary before using big words like disillusioned, because you are using it in the opposite way that you meant it. To quote Princess Bride "I do not think that word means what you think it means"

Secondly, I agree that the semi only rule is hard to enforce and because of that there are many people shooting fast guns that don't necessarily have the fast trigger skills, aka cheating. And I agree that ramping would solve some of those problems. However, I do find it annoying to be capped at a speed that many players can consistantly shoot faster than by 3-5 bps. I personally would be much happier with semi capped at 13, that way you would still have to have the trigger skills to get to the max rof, but even if your gun is set up somewhat illegally you are not going to shoot more than 13 bps, and that wouldn't really be that much advantage. Plus that would be pretty easy to check with any chrono that reads out the max rof of a string.

why would you lower the BPS so low to the point where its actually slowing you down? 13bps is what id say is the MROF of the average player, so PSPs 13.3bps was reasonable, 15bps was a bit high. but 10bps? you can practically shoot that without walking the trigger, why the hell would you punish players like that

PS... jon mills maybe you should attend more of those English classes your major dictates eh? disillusioned... idiot

this has very little to do with what actualy goes on at tournaments, it is being put in place so the kids who wander onto a airball field for there first time don't get destroyed and never play again.
it is a big picture kind of thing
