i had a pair of ventures and the "gypsy" dude at my local shop said use independents for pool riding even though they deal mostly with cruiser boards, old school decks, and longboards not really deal with short boards but they grip them cheaper then the other shop ($7 for grip<$9.99) but more south i go the cheaper the grip tape is but i think most shops use the same kind of grip tape since skate junk and mob grip tape is hard to find but its all the same for the most part IMO
