We ended up deciding not to camp out anyways. I couldn't find a baby sitter, and not very many people could make it.

Get ready for football season with us. Virginia Tech fans vs UVA fans. Teams will be divided on fan preference, so the more people you recruit for your college the better off you are. If you hate them both we'll make arrangements for that too, with a third team called the "Haters".

We'll play some games with a football. Entry fee is $20, we'll give away some prizes depending on how many people show up. We'll give away at least one prize for the "Best Dressed". Play in an old jersey, t-shirt, whatever you just might win a prize!

Yes, but we won't be involved. My best guess is they will post the info on this forum, but on a different thread.

I believe the intramural program is getting involved, but I honestly don't know for sure.

Our first tournament with this format went great. We hope you'll join us for rounds two and three.

Dates
August 15th
September 19th

3-man & 5-man woodsball tournament at our Glasgow, VA field. $75 for a 3-man team, $125 for a 5-man team. Small prizes and trophies will be awarded at the end for winning teams.

Winner will be determined through a series of random missions. Teams may be paired together with other teams or against multiple teams. Pairing will be determined by rolling of dice.

Points for missions will be weighted based on difficulty and time alotment. Missions will include attack/defend, center flag, find the dummy, escort the general, shot the bucket and other game types. Each team will have the ability to score at least 100 points per mission.

Each team should expect to play at least 5 missions. Top scoring teams, based on average number of points per mission, will play in a playoff round of center flag at the end of the day. Championship round is best of three.

This is the first of a five part series. At the end of the series we'll order one large team trophy for each of the top teams for the overall standings over the life of the tournaments. So in other words, in order for you to win the overall trophy you'll need to come to most or all othe tournaments.

Any questions, please call Jeremiah Keeler @ 434-258-1200

Kicked some butt, about died playing paintball. We were afraid of rain, so we were running games with a only about a 20 minute break inbetween 1 hour respawn games. It never did really rain, but just the forcast of rain cut the attendance in half.

Sure could have used a few of you guys, we were a bit short handed. It was something like 30 on 11 Saturday, and 20 on 8 Sunday. Our best game was Sunday when we defended and had only two respawns, the attackers had unlimited, untimed respawns. We held out the entire time limit of one hour, the last 30 minutes with no respawns. Towards the end me and Ben Santomossimo flanked around and took over the Den (biggest fort on the field). That really screwed up their attack at the end. Very proud of the guys on that one.

There's a lot more on our community page. Hope you can make it next year.

August 15th Woodsball Tournament-

If we can get at least 4 teams in each bracket we will give out a prize package of at least $300 retail value. Prizes will be slightly higher $$$$ for 5-man. No matter what we'll give out trophies and at least some small prizes. last time we had 6 teams, we'd like to get that up to at least 8 this time.

All games are single shot eliminations. Max points for each team in each game is at least 100 points. Joint mission teams earn the same amount of points regardless of which team capture the objective.

Gun shoots do not count. Dead players don’t talk. No barrel taping. No surrender. Defending teams cannot move or hide objectives.

An obvious hit is considered when a play should have felt the hit. Most hits are considered obvious hits and thus players should call themselves out. Exceptions to this are some hits on the pod pack, hit’s while running. If a ref see’s that a player is hit the ref may wait to see if the player calls for a paint check, if the player does not, then a one for one is called. If a player is hit and they continue to play through without calling for a paint-check a one for one penalty is enforced. The second offense is ejection for that player from the event.

Dead players don’t talk. If a player that has been eliminated gives information to a teammate who is still in the game that player is automatically eliminated. An additional 5 point penalty is also assessed to that players team. Players are allowed to yell words of encouragement (example “come on guys”), but cannot give information about the game (example “come on guys, there’s only one guy left”). When in doubt just keep your mouth shut. If you are watching a game and give out information to an active player your team will be penalized 10 points.

The game does not stop for a paint-check. A player may return fire while being paint-checked. A ref will ask to see clothing that is not clearly visible (example “show me your left knee”). If a player achieves an objective and found to have a hit the objective is waived off and the opposing team is awarded the points. NOTE: If a player is running for an objective the defending player is expected to stop shooting as soon as the attacker has attained the objective. If a defender continues to shoot at a player after the objective is obtained then any hits will be considered void and the objective will be awarded to the attacking player. Additional penalty’s may be enforced depending on the perceived intent of a players actions.

Players can call paint-checks on themselves and opponents. When calling a paint-check on an opponent a player should state specifically which body part was hit. Players who continually call for paint checks on other players will be ignored. If a player is deemed to have called a paint check to advance his position that player will be called out.

Between games it is a players responsibility to wipe off old hits.

Any player caught blatantly wiping a hit will immediately be kicked out of the tournament and banned from all future events at Big Pearl Paintball. A 2 for 1 penalty will also be assessed.

Cursing during a game is a 2 point penalty per curse word. It is a ref’s discretion to allow for one warning per player. Extreme cases will result in ejection from the event.

If a player carrying a flag is shot the flag is to be placed where the player was first shot.

Objectives must be clearly held in hand, not concealed. If you are caught concealing an objective the player will be eliminated and the objective will be placed either at the original start point or where the player was called out. Second offense is ejection of player from the tournament.

The dead box cannot be used as a bunker. It is a ref’s discretion to warn a player first (example “please move away from the dead box”). If a player is within 2 feet of the dead box and using it for cover while being shoot at the player will be eliminated.

Some games will have specific boundary’s, others will not. No player in a game should be within shooting distance of the parking lot. Players deemed out of bounds may be given a warning or simply eliminated. If a player is deemed to be intentionally flanking out of bounds the player will be eliminated from the tournament.

At the start of each game each team will be asked if they are “ready”. If your team is ready to play please respond with “Ready”. Please do not say “No”, it sounds a lot like “Go”. The call to start every game will be “3,2,1, ten secondddssssss……..Go, go, go…”. Any player that is not touching the designated start point at the beginning on the game will be automatically called out.

Teams must be ready within 5 minutes after their teams name is called for a mission. If a team is not ready within 5 minutes their team forfeits the match with max points being awarded to the opposing team. Teams should expect to occasionally play back to back games. If less then 6 teams at the tournament 10 minutes will be allowed from the time of a team’s announcement.

All disputes should be taken to the head ref (Jeremiah Keeler). DO NOT argue with a ref on the field during a game. Players who do so will be kicked out of the tournament and asked to leave the field immediately. A penalty will also be assessed to that team.

Each team should expect to play at least 5 missions. Championship rounds will start at 3pm. Top half of each class will play in championship rounds. All games will be center flag, team with the best score is awards choice of field and side. Championship game is best of three, with the team with the lower score picking only the side and location of the second game. The team with the highest score will pick games 1 & 3.

Just got some new roads built that should make it easier to use vehicles in scenario's.

Also, about half way done with the new castle fort.
