Sunday, March 7th 2010 – SPPL Style Woodsball Tournament
If you like playing in wooded courses and want the excitement of a tournament, this is the event for you! For those of you who have not heard of the SPPL, they are the most prominent woodsball series around.
This tournament will be played in the Scenario Challenge format -- the description below is from the SPPL website,

Back in the old days, tournament paintball was a woods game. Twelve, ten or eight-man teams clashed on outdoor fields in gnarly matches of Capture the Flag. Today, Woodsball™ and tournament paintball have gone their separate ways, but that doesn’t mean that Woodsball™ players shouldn’t have a chance to compete. The Scenario Challenge format borrows heavily from old school, woods tournament paintball, but then it adds back some basic elements of scenario style games. If you mix both, and shrink the field down to fit a ten-on-ten man game, you will come up with Scenario Challenge. It’s a mini-scenario/tournament game played by two teams. Here are some basics:
• The games last one hour.
• The fields can be from 4-7 acres.
• The winner is the team with the most points.
• Three main bases can be taken and held to provide a team with one point per minute their flag flies over that base.
• Three capture objectives are hidden around the field and they provide points (as well as three advantages) to the team that finds them.
• When a player is eliminated, he returns to a respawn point where he waits for the next re-insertion point (these happen every 10 minutes once the game starts).
WE BROUGHT THIS FORMAT TO THE STL AREA, AND THE FIRST EVENT WAS A GREAT TIME!! -- IF YOU HAVE EVER WANTED TO PLAY A WOODSBALL TOURNEY, CALL FOR MORE INFO -- WE CAN HELP FORM TEAMS!!
$20 per person includes air! All players are required to use our paintballs, but we will have two quality lines available @ $45 and $55 per case of 2000 rounds. Trophies awarded for 1st-3rd plus sportsmanship.
AS FAR AS TEAM SIZE:
The problem with woodsball is this: Woodsball players typically like large fields, large fields require large teams, and very few people have nine paintball playing friends who could commit to doing a ten man game with them. So, this is a ten man tourny, but we will match up groups of people on the day of the event. If you are one of the few who CAN get ten people together, feel free to do so and you all can be your own team. If you can only get a couple together, come on out and we will pair you with others to form a ten man team.
THE COURSE:
The field it will be held on is our Four Forts course, which is rolling terrain with forts across the course. It is our largest course (5+ acres) and is rather thick woods with paths busted through it with the help of a bobcat. WE HAVE THE BEST WOODSBALL IN STL and have been clearing them out and building trails and towers for years
