Ok, you are thinking of Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Liquidation involves a company not being able to cover their finances so they need to liquidate assets in order to do so.

Chapter 11 is a reorganization of credit. Then they would still be around.

Has anyone seen any credited sources on this?

They could save money on setup and venues, teams that play both leagues could save money on travel, sponsors/vendors could save money. All of this means that prices for teams could theoretically go down and there could be better venues to play at.
One league is industry owned and one is privately owned. If you want that to happen, send a letter to KEE, DYE, DXS, and PSP. (among others)

Ok its a sad day , this coming from one of the founding members of the NPPL.

The NPPL was made for the players by the players.

We were so tired of spending so much money each year going to events all over the states and having no consistency. Each event had a different promoter with different set of rules and different refs. I remember going to a large national event where a family reffed one field for the whole event. Most of the time this should not be a problem except out of the 5-6 people reffing only 2 had played or knew anything about paintball prior to the event. They were learning as the event went along. It was a train wreck.

Once the NPPL was created the players had power to make sure events were run first rate.
The PSP was born from this and would not be what it is now without us and the NPPL.

Paintball needs the NPPL. The last thing we need is just X ball. Players that do not like X Ball would not have anything else and eventually stop playing. We do not want that to happen.

Maybe its time the players take back the NPPL.

IMO coaching takes too much skill and sneakiness out of the game. It makes one rely on firpower and bps instead. Coming from a pump player that doesn't say much but still. *shrugs*

Npspl

Now both leagues can share refs, venues, nets and players. Could still work out!
A field owner said it could just make money sense. L8P

This i just one of things that makes me wondered if the sport will still be around when i have children and want them to play, but I feel that personally even if NPPL goes down the sport can endure.

Also is there a way we can petition for some kind of bailout for NPPL?

extremely doubtful. there's no one with near enough money to buy them out except for maybe PSP. if PSP wanted to (and could afford it), they could buy NPPL and make paintballing one format. but that would end up being x-ball.

On a way to look at this on a brighter note with NPPL selling pretty much full field setups this will allow local fields to acquire bunker sets thus attracting more local players helping to keep us going

just my two cents

Sad day but this could be good. PSP you need to get your **** together, cut out the things players don't like (ramping, etc.) and completly bank off the fact the PSP is now the number one paintball league
