Smallest Air Tank For A Marker

Has anyone heard of a 3000psi air tank that's only about 4-5 inches long good for about 500 rounds? A guy at a local paintball facility told me about it, said he saw a guy come in with it.

What i'm trying to do is put a very small tank on my tippman a-5 and elimate the remote line and having to carry the tank around. I would prefer air since most fields use air and its more reliable.

Any suggestions would be awesome.

God bless

No its a 13 ci 3000 psi tank.

I dont think you could coax 500 shots out of an a5

Its more for pump players

Yeah. You would get way less than 500 out of an a5. You're right it is for pump players. You could try a 3.5 oz CO2 tank, that will get you around the same amount of shots as a 22/3000 tank (also for pump) but smaller, and using CO2 over HPA.

Thanks guys, awesome info. I know this is a dumb question but if a tank is 22cubic inches what are the dimensions length and width in inches?

The smallest reasonably sized tank you're looking for is probably a 48ci/4500 psi tank. Anything smaller, and you wouldn't get much use out of a Tippmann. Heck I'm not sure if you'd even get a full game out of the 48 with a Tippmann without the farting at the end.

According to wevopaintball.com, who stocks these tanks, just scroll way down.

Yeah, those are the same tanks that MilSig's are using in their stocks. They have these and some CO2 tanks as well, but they just started using these as well. Works really well for that application, those being mag feed markers. I thought I heard someone say you can get like 200 shoots out of the MilSig's but dont quote me on that.

I have a 13ci 3000psi. I get about 150shots from a pump, probably about 60-70 from a tipimann. They also have 3.5 ounce C02 tanks but I have no idea how many shots you get. There are 22ci 3000psi tanks that probably get around 250 on a pump

Actionvillage and wevo paintball both have the 13ci 3000psi tanks. (wevo also has the 22ci) The 13ci will give around 150shots on a good pump or even my EGO. I have one and use it on my FBM halfblocked pump and also for extra air in the woods on my EGO. I love that little tank. Great investment.

Totally wrong, I shoot a 45/45 crossy on my DM5 and I can get 2-3 games on one fill, that would be way more than enough for an A5

On my 45/45, I get a hopper and two pods on a invert mini (roughly 450 shots)

How about one of those stubby steel co2 tanks (16 ounces) that never need retesting? I've still got mine, and it'll give at least 500 shots on an A-5. My favorite CO2 tank ever.

Otherwise the Ninja brand 45 (or is it 48) cubic inch tank is extremely small. It's likely the tank you're looking for, judging by your description. It's literally too small for many players to get comfortable with. However, you will get at least 500 shots from it, even on a hoggish A-5.

lets put it this way, those are electros, in no way can they ever equate to a blowback style gun. the idea that a 45/45 tank will get a decent number of shots out of a tippman is preposterous. If you want 500 shots on an a5 and you dont wanna have to deal with a tank, then you are pretty much SOL. The A% also has the cyclone feed, which also drains air. You might be able to solve your problem to some degree if youre using an electro, or most definately a pump, but without changing your gun, and without carrying like 3 tanks around, there is more or less no way out of a big tank, or a remote hose.

Funny, I got close to 400 with a 48/3000, minimum. On an A5. Right before I sold it off.

That sounds about right and in line with what I get. There is a formula I got off an internet article that seems to be pretty close most of the time.

Oh yeah, and the smallest air tank currently available is roughly 8 cubic inches. There is an ordering list in the pump forum and over on MCB forums at the moment for these vessels.

I've seen the ones Castro mentions (online, not actually)
My take on those is that they're not much bigger than a dozen 12g's.
Either I want to run stock class in which I run 12g's, OR I want a tank that will keep me going for a while. Meaning a lot more than a dozen 12g's will do.

It's one or the other.

Chauncy Toombs of Cooper-T (may he rest in peace) tried to market a refillable HPA 12g, but it never got beyond a prototype simply because it defeated it's own purpose.

There are tanks available that are small volume/high pressure but using them won't give you the "shots per fill" you're looking for.
