ULing a MARQ

has it been done?

alright this is my plan, i have a DM4/5/C ul frame in the mail (hopefully)
as well as a pair of stock (2 eye) marq eyes.

i work in a machine shop and i have made a tray to adapt the ul and marq.

my question, has this been done before.

will the UL board and marq eyes work together?

(if not i can make something work)

also, suggestions where i can buy a custom wiring harness.

paintballer187? iirc he had a crimping tool for the timmy stuff he did ages ago.

also,
frame placment, toward the front or back? what do you think?

id like to use one of the screws to hold both the tray and frame...
and yeah, i have to machine out some of the frame to fit the #10-32 screw.

anything else VW can think of that i need to do research on?

This isnt a stupid 'is it possible' thread.

its going to happen

if anyone has a cad file of a UL frame, please, shoot me a PM

results.

future project....

this sounds like it could have only been thought of with the help of midnight insomnia.

but anyways, this could actually be cool looking.

comfort of ul frame and smoothness of a marq.

almost any gun can be made to work with a UL frame if you have a tray...thats what "kills" the project...

The idea is to do it without a tray, thats when the fun/hard work/time/labor/cost really gets going.

Actually imo a tray with the marq isn't a half bad idea, Because the trey would be hidden do to the recessed frame on the marq series.

im doubtful that the eyes of the marker will work with the logic of the UL board. I recommend finding a similar sized diode pair that can be wired up to the marq.

and no the UL marq has not been attempted one because of the akward shape of the body, and that a tray would be needed to fit it.

Easy thing to do would be to fit the Marq board in the UL.

NoelyDeezNutz: a tray has to be made, if you take of the frame of a marq and look, its not straight across the length of the body, it actually comes down more towards the front, plus the solenoid and LPR both go into the frame of the UL.

jonotwist: im doubtful aswell about the logic of the eyes and UL compatibility.
im going to try it.
if it doesnt work, ill make a small part to hold the eyes inside the eye cover, or make a whole new cover all together.

Paintballer231: i want to see how much room inside the UL frame i have, and if it has enough room i can do that. i would perfer to keep the frame normal, so if i want i can resale it later.

DUB FR3SH: id like to see those, post up.

Also, as a sidenote, the tray is going to be just enough to make space for the LPR and solenoid.

if i put the UL frame towards the front of the tray, i think itll be too close to the reg, and im worried if i put it towards the back itll feel awkward =[

i guess ill figure that out.

the eye should be here soon, and once paypal clears so should the frame.

and suggestions on inline regs, i was kinda thinking CP would look good. opinions?

eyes - if the stock marq eye's don't work, i bet you could use some blank pc board from radio shack and make your one eye boards...

tray and frame - like people are saying, since the marq noid and lpr are already inside the body most of the way, i bet a tray really wont look to bad..

Reg. - i use the stock reg on my marq, but long sidewinders look good too.. short regs look bad imo..

how far along are you? i'll be at predator tomorrow, if your going to be there, i'ld love to see how it's comming

thanks KWAZ,
i just have a tray right now, i still have to wait til i got my UL frame.

good thinking about the PC board, i never really thought about that.
ill keep the reg stock man.

im going to make the tray as small as i can once i get the UL frame so i know how thick i can make the slot for the wiring.

depending on how long/far forward you want the ul frame, getting a reg with a bottom macro out may let you move the frame further forward.

with the stock reg, i can turn the macro side where ever i wish.
im just worried that if i put the UL frame toward the front its going to make my hands feel crowded, you know?

Idk how good it would look, a Marq is really wide. I don't think it would look right, but maybe it would work.

As for placement, a marq is the same length as a PMR and about the same height, so I would do something like a UL'd PMR.

if the eyes dont work with the ul board and you can get the marq board to fit get a universal t board cause that will deff fit.
