It will serve for what I intend to use it for. Its basically going to be hooked up to a vcr for copying over old vhs security tapes to dvd recordings. My business partner and I switched the surveillance system over to a hard drive type system at our self storage facility, but according to regulations, we're required by law to keep 5 years worth of footage. Multiply that by 16 cameras and you'll find that that equals somewhere around 8-9000 vhs tapes that we have, now instead of paying our worthless employees to just sit there and get high, they will have to dub tapes every shift as well.
Edit, it doesn't seem like a smart thing to do, but at the current rate of almost 10 bucks per vhs tape for copying services, for the cost of dvd's and a recorder, I could care less how long it takes to get them all done. And i'll be able to print still pictures if anything does happen, something i'd have to have police take care of now.

yeah those were sweet, didn't get them though. Is there any reason in particular that that would be a bad dvd recorder to buy? Because after they're done recording the 8622 video tapes i'll probably take it home with me
or atleast one of them, i bought 3
