Thumbs up Soccer Thread v4 ** "The World's Game" - GIZMO8Z **

This thread is meant for conversation about "the beautiful game" otherwise known as football, futbol, or footie.

For starters, post your:
Favorite Club Team?
Favorite National Team?

For those that play:
Your club team?
Your school team?

Before anyone else feels the need to remind us, yes we know we are grass fairies, yes we know that some players are divers, and yes we know that you feel the need to remind us of this because you are so jealous and insecure about your own sport of choice.

I play club soccer at my university and random pickup games when I can. I mostly play in defense.

I think of the name and don't get to create the thread ... that's weak.

Perugia! Perugia! AC Perugia, RIP

So now, since my love is no more, I root for AS Roma. Honestly, I'm pretty objective when I watch Serie A since my team is gone.

Played for a lottt of ****e:
Tippco FC
Carmel Cosmos (Carmel United)
Harrison HS - One year (Freshman)
ECC - Three years (Sophomore-Senior)
ODP - One year (Two technically, but the first year was the B squad/reserve where I only practiced.)

Pretty much covers it I believe

I thought this was the 5th soccer thread. Didn't one thread get messed up and was titled the wrong number?

Yeah we had "The Soccer Thread" but numbnuts kept posting until it hit 2k and the system blew up. This is actually like version 9ish if I recall correctly.

Gizmo: I got you.

Anyone else watching qualifiers? I kind of like not knowing the majority of these players since I get to enjoy the game that much more.

So obviously as you guys have noticed I don't follow European soccer a ton; I just watch games here and there. I'm more of a fan of the game rather than a big fan of one team. I wanted to know the big rivalries in the EPL. The only one that I really know of is Arsenal and Tottenham. What are some others?

Manchester United - Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City
Arsenal - Tottenham
Chelsea - Manchester United, Fulham?
Liverpool - Manchester United

Those are some of the big ones, I know there are more rivalries that also trickle down to lower divisions, but PL - PL those are most of the big 4s.

Portsmouth and Southampton have a huge rivalry but they no longer play each other since the scummers got relegated down to the Championship league and haven't been able to make it back up...

You would lose any argument you tried starting anyway, so you made a good choice to GTFO.

All the big 4 have rivalry matches against each other.
Chelsea- West Ham, Millwall, Spurs, Fulham (only on their end)
Liverpool- Everton
Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Sunderland all hold rivalries with each other.
West Brom vs. Blackburn (and wolverhampton but they aren't prem)
Villa and Brum, and bolton kind of.
The rest are relatively small.

Please, we generally like people to have an IQ over 100 in this thread, so it's probably best that you leave.
