Pump Scout is one of the top 250 posters on PbNation
Ben Kohnen aka “Pump Scout” – Ben played his first game of paintball shortly after returning from Cavalry Scout training in 1991, following learning of the sport from a fellow trainee. He picked up a PMI3 setup from an area field, but soon sold it in favor of a Tippmann pump, beginning a long relationship with pump-action markers. Through the years, he has owned many markers, but always returns to the old-school ones. Ben plays mostly recreationally, although he worked as pit crew for a one-time PSP team in 2005 and has played some local tournaments. He is a husband and father of five enthusiastic kids. By trade, he is a real estate title examiner, although interests have led him to other occupations at times. He is currently rebuilding a project pontoon boat, and devoutly hopes to have it floating and running by someday.

Current guns owned - Darq, retro Dragon Timmy build, DYE Reflex Cocker, Empire Trracer pump, a pair of JT ER2 pistols, and probably half a dozen others I'm either forgetting, are in bits awaiting this or that to turn them into something more, or are very basic loaner guns.

For that middle picture of Ed Rieker, I can recognize the courtyard of Castle Aarrrgghh at EMR anywhere.

You are the man, how did you like the droid when you shot it? Guns are beasts.

They are good guns and I certainly liked it. If I knew I could get my money back out of one in a year, I'd buy one today. I want another spool valve gun, but I don't know what yet.

If I had to recomend a spool it would definately be a droid, although resale is falling pretty hard. The DLX Luxe is holding its value well but it is very expensive and may drop soon. As of know spools are having trouble holding there value welll. I wish you luck in finding a marker.

BTW love the RT, it is very nice.

Yeah, the Geo, DM and Droid are all contenders. The Luxe would be a longshot.

The RT I've had for quite some time now. I need to find someone to do a tuneup on it and get the level 10 to work right as well. Not too many people you can trust with that type of work these days.

They are all definately great guns. Really cant go wrong with any of them.

Yea, it would definately be a shame if someone messed it up. The marker is beautiful and I bet it shoots even better.

That gun is pretty well used actually. I played events with it for long after electronic guns had taken over in the NPPL. It's never had a Level 10 and I finally bought one just for it not to work at all in that gun. It certainly does not work up to its full potential at the moment.

Yeah, I've played with all the guns I'm considering. I just don't know which to get.

That is always disapointing when you buy something for a gun and it ends up not working. I always love breaking something that is already working. Did the RT hold up with all the other electo markers?

It was great at fall Castle at EMR. Very light pull and as far as I could tell, was doing just fine with all the electros. The only time I saw it having a problem was when the foamie was shot off from dry firing.

It was kind of funny to see the other pro players pawing over it.
