285 fps

so i heard a rumor that nppl might be changing to overall speed of markers at events to 285

granted it is only a rumor, and i hope it stays that way

should nppl lower the marker speed to 285?

That's already effective as of 08 season for NPPL and XPSL.

I played both this year and HB was 300 fps and all XPSL was 285 fps.

Most people chrono a safe fps under so you don't get a hot gun penalty, so its around 290 anyway.

Given that NPPL is national-level competition (not catering to new players at all really), and the length of the fields, I'd say 300 fps is the right velocity.

I also think though that 285 makes sense for XPSL where you have more entry-level players.

i have always chronoed on in the mid 290's in the nppls noone has said a thing to me, as far as for next season, doesnt really make a difference to me either way. our home fields field speed is 285 fps and i dont really notice too much of a difference, altho at 285 everything is a lil more efficient (would be good for our back players)
