I started with an a-5. I dont have the weight criteria on some of those guns there but still. A brick by todays standards.

i was trying to find the weights of the new dms but i dont feel like waisting to much time....

ok i checked on nation and the DM8 weights in at 1.5oz

this guy must be a newb.... i still love the DM3 which was the second "BRICK" ever released
hell i never got a chance to own a shoe box shocker but i played with one and that was a BRICK
i have owned 3 marq 7's so far and the shape of the gun and the balance of it makes it feel noticbly heavier then the rapper and marq 6. also have owned 2 marq 6's, 2 rapper's, and 3 closer's so i have played with them all.

Ok, correct me if I'm wrong...but 1.5 - 2.2 oz markers? Aren't those weights a too light? Thinking it should be 2.2 lbs. (the .2 = almost a 1/4 of a lb) or maybe 2lbs. 2 oz. Did some searching myself... according to Dye the DM8's new design reduced the DM8's weight by 1.5 oz, compared to the DM7.
On boblongdirect, the rapper's weight, without barrel, is 2lbs 1.7 oz.

Added: Regardless though, I do agree those weights are still minuscule to bicker over.

I zero'd out the scale in between every gun. The DM9 is the Claret, DM8 is Olive-Black, DM7 is Clear, and DM6 is Blue. The DM7, DM8, and DM9 are all BNIB and straight out of the package. The DM6 is used, but stock.

DM9=2 Pounds 3.2 Ounces

DM8=2 Pounds 6.4 Ounces
.......

Yes, I've seen the marq comparison chart too. So you're saying those weights on the chart are represented as ounces? That being, a marq would weigh less than an average apple? And a DM8 even less at 1.5 oz?

i own a marq 7 with a 68/4500 crossy velocity jr. my point is when you fill the hopper full of paint put a tank on it and start shootin and that 2.2lb-1.9lb means NOTHING!!!! so just get over the fact that a couple of ounces actually makes a real difference, it does'nt.

got a rapper recently... After putting the critical trigger on there, put in the tadao board, and put the efficeiency bolt in there, man this marker is alot of fun. If you play semi only i recommend 4 eyes because it increases your rate of fire. All in all this is very quality marker

Dont worry about weight on the gun. guns these days are all pretty light. considering when I first played tournament paintball it was with a Right feed Planet eclipse edition Shocker Turbo. That thing was like 5 pounds no barrel or tank (slight exaggeration but not much, thing was a brick), and those games went for 20-30 min. Now a days games are usually at max 5 min and the guns are all light and compact. so just go with what feels good, I have shot just about everything out to date (all except the geo and 09 ego) and I have settled with a darq.

Looking for a new gun as well and I think I'm going with the Marq 6. Pretty excited to pick one up.

I have shot about every major gun out on the market.

Ive had an Ego, Sft, Dm7, Gen 3 and 4 Intimidator (along with the d2), Proto 6 and I now have my Rapper. I honestly prefer it to anything else. Allow me to explain.

It is honestly the happy medium between spoolers and poppet markers. I wont mention recoil since all guns feel the same to me in that area. However its a smooth firing cycle. Think smoother firing cycle than an EGO but not like a DM. Then with a PE kit its efficient as well. More so than a DM but closer to an EGOs efficiency. Again its a happy medium between markers.

As for maintenance. Its very very simple. There is also very few dynamic seals so there's less chance you can spur a leak. Therefore making it simpler to pinpoint your problem and not having to replace a plethora of o-rings when all you need is one. Marqs can also go long amounts of time without maintenance and still shot like the day you bought it. While not advised it can be done.

But the biggest reason I love my Marq apart from the performance is the tech service. I honestly believe that Bob Long has the most knowledgeable and friendliest guys on their tech staff. God only knows how many times Ive had previous timmies looked at and sent in. I figured theyd know me by first name. Yet they always helped me and always fixed what ever was wrong no matter what. True story. I had a Defiant 2 that was in need of dire help. I came late in the day so Terry (tech) really couldn't do anything since they had packed up. He offered to take my gun back to his hotel and work on it. Next day it was completely fixed. Its nice to when you ship to BLAST. Quick fixes and quick turnarounds. Thats a definite plus for me.

So as you can see I think very highly of the Marq. Its capabale of handling all kinds of abuse you can possibly administer. From the woods of scenario play to the x-ball fields. Marqs are more than able to suit what you play. However I could give you statement after statement yet the only way you will truly know if you like the Marq series or not is if you go out and try one for yourself. Then and only then will you know if its the marker you wish to use. However there's a reason why a majority of Marq owners prefer their gun to anything else on the market today.

Man, you gotta take the frame off the gun to adjust the LPR. That's a pain in the ***. I'm reconsidering a Marq now.

HAHAHAHAHA LAZY ***.......

And not all marqs need the frame taken off to adjust the lpr, if u have the frame knoched out u can adjust it threw the outside...

but lets think about this.. if u dont have the knoch then u will most likely not screw with it, and mess something else...

I just bought an LPR tester and i will be setting and forgetting the lpr...

send it in and get the slot milled...not that hard, and its pretty much set it with the LPR tester and forget it, nothing to readjust
