Beret wear
well this is obviously a thread aimed at all the army guys we have in here. Im just curious as to how you guys wear your berets. i get dogged constantly at my unit because i have a cut and formed beret, that dosent have the flash standing perfectly vertical; its canted downward ever so slightly.
i get annoyed when soldiers come up to me and tell me that my beret is jacked, when theirs isint cut or shaven, and has excess and wrinkles.
those of you not in the RC probobly dont have this issue, but i'd still like to find out how you guys wear yours.
its kind of a silly thing to rant about but its just annoying to me.

I have mine formed pretty much perfectly to my head. My flash is also canted downward, a lot (like nearly parallel to the ground). Looks better that way... the right side also nearly covers my ear.

How you have it is how it is traditionally supposed to be worn.. and that is how you would see them in an Airborne or Ranger but not always in pogland. The regs don't say the flash has to be straight up and down - only that
"The beret is worn so that the headband (edge binding) is straight across the forehead, 1 inch above the
eyebrows. The flash is positioned over the left eye, and the excess material is draped over to the right ear, extending to
at least the top of the ear, and no lower than the middle of the ear."
Source: AR670-1/3-5a (3FEB2005)
Looks like as long as your headband is straight and the drape is in line, you are good to go.

I wear mine shaved, formed, and slanted across my forhead. The slack almost covers my ear, and I see it out the corner of my right eye. I wear the flash almost parallel with the ground.
Its called 'attitude' as it was described to me.

i miss the days when having a black beret meant something. anyways, i seriously hate wearing my beret, but i still keep it looking sharp when i chose to wear it--unlike many of my counterparts. airforce cool guys get to wear these silly felt hats as well.
