Stocks Question

If you go here:
http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=G...urce=undefined

and look at the times when there was a steep drop in stock value, it correlates with an increase in volume. I thought that with more people buying the stock, stock values would go UP...

Can anyone enlighten my confused state of mind?
