This afternoon we received an email from Pacific Paintball announcing that President Shawn Walker was no longer with the organization.

CEO Scott Pierce is taking on the additional duties as President of Pacific Paintball, and will run the day-to-day operations of Pacific Paintball and its' various properties, including the NPPL, PB2X, and Paintball.Com.

In a phone call to Mr. Pierce, he confirmed that changes had been made at the upper levels of Pacific Paintball, and that Shawn Walker was no longer with the company. He added that the remaining team was doing a fantastic job, and he looked forward to working with them moving forward.

The only remaining question is the status of the XPSL, which Walker founded. It's not known at this time if Walker will retain ownership of the XPSL or if it's a wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific Paintball.
well that would stink if he lost everything that he has worked for

lets look at 68's history of skewing news... It reminds me of an insecure tabloid sometimes...

Honestly, I'm sad to see Shawn go. That guy's made his mistakes, but he's put his heart into the leagues and game. I'll pour one out for the good things Shawn's done tonight.

While it is true that Shawn is no longer with Pacific Paintball, it is simply ridiculous to think that Pacific Paintball bases personnel decisions on playing a paintball tournament.

I wouldn't be afraid to venture that there could be a line appended to his contract saying something about using the services of competing companies.

I'm not saying that's what happened, and I'm not saying it's likely, but I wouldn't say it's impossible.

I'll give Dave Z credit - he listens much better then Shawn Walker ever did. I've had my issues with him from time to time but he's always listened to my side of the events and explained why rulings were (or were not) made. I don't know enough about his qualification to say weather or not he's a good fit to run the entire league.

It's also ridiculous to think that such a clause would exist and Shawn would play anyway.

Changes aren't likely to be apparent until next year, possibly as soon as HB.

Shawn Walker fired from Pacific Paintball LLC

As of this morning, 10/20/2008, Shawn Walker has been fired from Pacific Paintball LLC. Scott Pierce, the CEO of Pacific Paintball, has now taken on the role of President since his start in April 2008. From the looks of it, we now have someone new to direct our complaints.

from pbreserve, could turn into an interesting end-season
