my accuracy ???

hay guys went out this weekend and my marker for most the day was awful

first game is was ok had a few curve balls round the 25 meter mark second round of the first game had a few more at the same distance

on the second game i had a ball break which made things even worse on the second round of the second game my bolt jammed forward releasing air

went back to base got the bolt fixed got the paint out the barrel but still wasn’t rite

so switched back to my autococker trilogy competition and this was far better

any idea on why my accuracy was so bad my psi was 260 and had a good bore to paint match ???

this gun isn't too good with high pressure.

best u try to lower it to about 150-180

Even though the manual says higher, it just works better at 150-180?
My epi is in the mail, just makin sure I know what works best for it

The whole point of the epiphany is to run at a higher pressure than an ion, to reduce shot drop off.

It will have some issues at the higher PSI it's supposed to be set at. I run mine at 200psi and usually get about 250-270fps(not 300 but better than my gun constantly leaking)

As for your gun, well it could have just been that your paint didn't agree with it. My friend and I both got bad cases of some Hydro the field was loaded on like everyone else there and some people were pretty dead on and others had massive accuracy issues. My friend has pretty decent shooting on his Shocker & Ion and I'd have ok to horriable shots from my Epiphany

Edit- on a side note to the beginning of my statement, Some people will work just fine at 260 with the proper firing can insert & Dwell set-up but if your gun starts to act up turn it down a little bit.

true, but the mechanics of the epi usually isn't the case.

i had so much problems running at 220 psi. i even had a banjo blow.

140 is the safest bet.

sadly the epiphany selling point isn't whats good for the gun. its best to go for that ion set up and lower ur psi. more people here have problems running above 200 psi.

I know this thread is going off topic with this, but I am wondering how you can set your operating pressure below 200 and still obtain 300fps [or close to it]?

I operate my Epi at about 250-260 and while I did have issues with the stock hoses that came with it, I contribute that to operating it at those high pressures while playing in VERY hot conditions. I should have been using one of the inserts like the manual states and lower the pressure a little bit [but it still would have been above 200psi].

I ask this not to challenge anyone, I am actually very interested in this and wonder what settings would need to be set to obtain this with keeping a high velocity while not lowering my BPS to something really slow.

So is it possible to have 290-300FPS while keeping around 13 BPS with limiting the operation pressure so low?

I should probably add to this threads topic...

I found that when I went from the stock Epi freak insert to a MAJOR underboring the accuracy improved a lot... I, and my team, spent a lot of time with looking at paint to bore matching and I think we all have come to the conclusion that underboring is the way to go...

Right now I am using a .682 Freak insert and went through a case of paint last sunday. I would say I had one barrel break, but it was worth it for the improved accuracy.

Just my 2cents for the actual topic.

well the stock is .693 and if you are shooting paint that is .681, you obviously will have accuracy issues and top spin on the ball which makes your gun shoot less accurate and shorter.

and yes, remove all the inserts in the firing can to lower your operating pressure. might i suggest finding an ion firing can and replace the epi firing can.

Do you use less air/more shots per tank when running at a lower psi? I would think yes but I don't know

If you have your dwell set-up right it technically should
