There are already a **** ton of threads where people are asking the same questions, and getting the same answers so I figured I'd try to save some time.

Why doesn't Dye sue Evil?!?

There used to be this neat thing called "private label guns". It was when a company paid for a license right to make a custom milled marker, usually with that company's upgrade parts already. The only upgrade part the Minion came with was the barrel. Anyway the answer to this all to common and annoying question is that Evil paid Dye to use the Matrix platform for the Minion.

Minion6 (or 06 Minion to some):

Yes your friend told you right it is a PM6.

The differences are obvious. The milling and metal eye covers. It also weighs in significantly less. The board is a stock PM6 board. The bolt is a stock PM6 bolt. Stock barrel is an Evil Pipe instead of a Proto 2 piece.

Minion7 (or 07 Minion, you get the idea)

Yes it is a PM7.


No there isn't a whole lot of difference with this one either. Its still a private labeled Matrix. The milling does make it look cooler, although that's about it when it comes to the differences. The bolt is the stock PM7 bolt. The board is a Stock PM7 board that came with the standard settings of Semi, PSP, and I think NXL but I could be wrong there. Stock barrel is an Evil Pipe instead of a Proto 2 piece.

Detonator Reg

Was not shipped with the marker. Both models came with a Hyper2 Reg.

Grips

Neither marker came with the custom Evil grips that are shown in the manual, and in promotional shots on websites. Evil decided to go with the Proto grips for what I can only assume were financial reasons.

Will a UL frame that fits a PM5 fit an 06 Minion? No. You need the correct model year UL frame.

Also, will a Virtue board currently in an 06 Minion, fit in that PM5 UL frame? I don't think so. The PM5 UL board was different.

EXAMPLE to convert shot count on 45/4500:

1300 / 68ci = 19.12 shots per ci @ 4500 psi
19.12 x 45ci = 860 shots per 4500 psi

* All guns use the Fuse Bolt design. The DM4 bolt is longer than the others, proving inefficient, the short bolt will get well get an extra 200 shots. The Pm5 gets more air because it runs at higher pressure, which also means more kick.
* The DM4 & DM5 use an inline pressure of 180 psi and the DM6 runs at 165 psi. The PM5 runs at 220 psi and the PM6 runs at 165-170 psi.
* The DM4 & DM5 use the same electronics, the DM5 is stock programmed faster, the PM5 and PM6 is completely different, and the DM6 comes stock with the UL Grip Frame, which comes with its own electronics.
* The DM5 and the DMC are basically the same, except the DMC has stock Tournament Settings and 2 ounces lighter with the composite frame.
* The DM6 and PM6 has an improved Solenoid which has improved efficiency with battery life, bolt life, and a longer lasting solenoid. The Self Cleaning Eyes makes it easier for players to not take time to clean their guns on the field.
* The DM6 UL Frame features an LED Indicator near the thumb, this provides a quick view on the status of your marker.

Yeah, every time I make my way out of the Texas forums and into the Evil ones I see the "whats the diff. between minion and pm" threads. Got me wondering why this thread hadn't already been made. Too bad there are no more mods to sticky this.
