hey guys, just thought i would do a brief review of what i think of my slg.
so the SLG comes packaged really nicely, just like other PMs ive owned. comes with lube, a manual, a barrel sock, wrenches, spares, and a warranty card. the gun comes with an 11" barrel which will just be a throw away for most people, but i see no reason why it wouldnt be functional/decent. the slg feels good in your hands, and most importantly, it feels solid. honestly, if you were to close your eyes, nothing about the frame would hint that it is composite. there is no flex at all, and it is just as sturdy as anything out there. the ano was an excellent finish, with no mill marks or flaws.
so ill be honest, i got impatient and wanted to make sure my gun worked before i used it for practice this past sunday so i did actually put co2 through it. even with co2 the gun shot great, nice and smooth. after i got some air, the gun was excellent. i did have a leak pop up during the day but that has been taken care of after i found which orings i needed to replace. the gun doesnt kick more than any other dm/pm ive owned(4 dm4s, 2 dm5s, 2 dm6s, 2 dm7's, 2 pm6's, 1 pm7). the gun seems to have "barrel raise", not kick. as in, its not a jerk back, but a slight lift upward on the barrel. while playing i didnt notice it at all, so its nothing to worry about. the gun shoots pretty consistently. the first time i put it over the chrono, it was +/- 9-10 on avg.
the gun is very easy to take care of. MUCH easier than other dm's.
there isnt an LPR to lube, and the bolt only has 4 dynamic orings(orings that touch a moving surface). as i said above, i had a leak while playing but it was easily fixed.
the gun is pretty efficient, i believe i was getting about 4 pods and a hopper with 2kpsi. im sure that will increase even more once i break the gun in more.
the gun is also very fast! while i was first shooting it, i believe i had the gun shooting at 20-25bps, and i think i got it to dry fire at even faster rates of fire.
problems i had:
forgot to put this in!
alright guys, before people think im some slg fan boy or im biased or something, i will tell you problems i had through out the day.
the main problem i had was bouncing. the trigger out of the box was very stiff, and after shooting other dm's, i was trying to get that same feel back. i reduced the screw tension pretty much all the way and this caused the gun to sometimes bounce, and other times run away while shooting. i do think that this was solved by upping the trigger sensitivity though.
another problem i had was that i broke a couple of balls out of 2,500rnds, but i should mention i was shooting rainbow for the day.
if any other info is wanted, just ask and ill try my best to answer.
